Why do you hate Imagine Dragons so much? They are a good band.

And I’m hoping for a deluxe release that’s complete like Oblivion had… but I doubt it.

Although I did comment on one of SJ’s photos of behind the scenes of them working on TF4 asking if there will be a full release and he liked it.

I doubt that means anything, as the composers don’t have the rights the music but you never know.

Had a few short convos when posting some neat "behind the scenes" featurettes about the sound design to DOTM and tagged him. He actualy replied about some tidbits on the sound design and the score combined.

Looking forward to a complete/session release in the time to follow the home release of the feature film (s).

I don’t mind Imagination Dragons or whoever.
I did like Linkin Park though for their themes.

Seems Michael Bay might be the hold up here. I remember he was the reason the last film’s score was released without much build-up. It felt very last minute once it happened. History could be repeating itself.

Hasbro may own the rights to the Transformers name, but it’s Paramount that owns the rights to the film. And I’ll repeat myself, it’s still too late to "kick him out" (that doesn’t even make sense to me, kicking someone out of a film).

If the film is not already finished (it may not be, Revenge of The Fallen was still being edited the night of its Chinese premiere), and if something were to happen, you really think they’d do away with him? Sure, Paramount can hire someone else to do the next one – but it’s too late to do anything now. I can’t even come up with an analogy for that, and I’m great with analogies. It’s nearly done. you forgot one thing. The one thing that makes me get sick of him. He is an American patriot, and he insists in almost ALL his movies, including with transformers, to show patriotism in it.
I had no idea "The Rock" was him. you are right. One Good movie. I did like "The Island" too… but that is all I like of him… maybe because the patriot theme is not there.. AGAIN.

His patriotism and showing off of American troops is what got him special cooperation from the military in the first movie though. I see nothing wrong of an American film being patriotic. That said though, it’s be interesting to see some of the Transformers in Europe maybe, and what challenges may be going on there. Can’t "protect the planet" by staying in one minor landmass….:awsm:

Wasn’t truck (the first track) a confirmed fake? I thought jabs said himself on his Facebook that it wasn’t his work. I’m not sure about the second one but the short preview sounds like it could be the dinobots theme. Even though it’s fan made, Truck is still my fav out of everything "leaked".it

Truck is a confirmed fake, yes. But it is also based off some person’s theme in some show I believe. I can’t remember, I saw it in the comments on one of the YouTube videos that has this ‘Truck’ cue uploaded on.

Nice, I liked how he said there would be a more lyrical and emotional approach. Thinking back to the cues in the previous scores which were more lyrical (the best tracks), Jablonsky has proven he can produce some excellent music without constant drumming action. Quite excited for this one!

Are you saying you wish to assimilate the score from the movie unto yourself, and then become the embodiment of it?
Because that kinda what it sounds like.

I’ve always found these movies to be terrible, but I like the music itself enough (this type of score is under one of my favorities).

It was recommended to me that I start an official Facebook page (since there are other Steve Jablonsky pages that claim to be official), so here it is. Over there we will keep you up to date on things like the Transformers soundtrack, which just a few of you have asked me about 🙂 I’m very sorry for the lack of information, but rest assured it is in progress and we will have details for you soon. I would tell you now but I’m not quite sure myself. I do know that the music is done!

That’s a badass tune. Aside that, the rest of the score didn’t really have the same punch as the original. Hopefully, when isolated of all the explosions and mayhem on screen, it’ll sound better. 🙂 And yes, they used the Arrival to Earth theme. 😀

I was both shocked and pleasantly surprised that for once, the awesome trailer music was used in the film. Hopefully it’s on the OST. If not, at least we have the stems, thanks to Hack3rman. I thought the score was great, and like I had hoped, the choral part of Battle Cry was used quite a number of times and during appropriate scenes.

Aside from Arrival to Earth which I was delighted to hear, I also heard 1m18 Ravage Drops His Balls from RoTF (played during Attinger’s and Cade’s meeting in the office) and 7m55 Saving Carly from DotM. I also heard the now iconic Transformers gong several times.

Mixed on the new theme. I far prefer Jablonsky’s themes from the first movie. There was still plenty he could’ve done with the main Autobot theme from the first movie. Alas, he barely even used it in the third one and the only original theme that returned was Arrival to Earth in the fourth flick. I almost feel like Jablonsky phoned it in here– or just didn’t have enough time.

Well you obviously haven’t read any of his interviews. He says he started working on it in December (6 months ago), and that working on a Michael Bay movie is like working on 2 and 1/2 smaller movies. Sounds like he’s been busting his ass, to me.

Interviews only say so much in the reality of things though. Jablonsky has also been scoring The Last Ship, which is a TV series. If he’s working on the equivalent of "2 and 1/2 smaller movies" and a TV series, how much attention can he really spread to all of them? And before those two he scored Lone Survivor. He may in fact have been busting his ass due to time constraints, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he was able to give a full effort. We’ll see if it holds up to individual listening once the score is released.

God I wish this would hurry up and leak already.

Thanks! I wonder why they’re delaying the release of this one. I wasn’t a big fan of the Transformers movies anymore (still haven’t seen the 3rd one) but I just caught this one since I work at my local theater, and it has to be the best one. Hands down. Just very long!

Hunted is f-king amazing… the Imagine Dragons… the orchestra like I can’t deal

I know what he said on the interviews, but it had to be Hans Zimmer’s power who got Imagine Dragon’s to come into the score. And what did Skrillex do, all we know is he made sounds, and sound effects, or at least that’s what Steve said. Did he end up being part of the score at all? I hope he had some collaboration, I’m sure he made some amazing sounds, even if they ended up unused.

It just ends up hurting him and the labels that end up releasing this type of material. I try to do all the supporting I can, and I think I do a hell of a lot of buying. Too much to be honest. I could have went without buying this EP, but it wouldn’t have felt right. This music deserves support, like you and I have. Everyone should buy this, even including the official score, which I also plan on purchasing. Whether or not it’s on CD I still will purchase it, even though I would much prefer a physical copy.

Hey, it’s been online for a while, you should have hurried up slow poke! 😉 Just kidding, but I drove home as fast as I could from work, and have been listening to my theme approximately 10 times now. Can’t wait for my parents to turn the TV off so that I can blast it with my M-Audio BX5’s 🙂

Oh, definitely, I’m sure that’s him. Somewhere in this score he is featured. I just wish Steve would reveal which tracks were worked on by whom, etc. Maybe if there’s a digital booklet, or in the Booklet that comes with the official CD score, it will list the featured composers on which tracks. That would be nice.. Not necessary, but would be really nice to know. Even if Hybrid Soldier would be able to find out for us a couple months from now, which he usually does. I would be content with at least knowing. 🙂

I wholeheartedly agree. To be honest, I think scorepranos must’ve lost his Transformers contact which sucks majorly. But, I think the Transformers score albums can sometime be better than the Bootlegs, because they try to include the big melodic pieces, not the ambient sounds that most likely no one but completists would buy.

The score EP has gone live! This is just a teaser, it was the best way to get something out there quickly. These four tracks are exclusive to the EP, they are theme pieces I wrote early on. The score album will have different material (including variations on these themes), and will have more than four tracks 🙂 No official release date yet.

So… all the themes on the EP are present in one form or another except the best one… disapointing.

I agree, it is disapointing, I was looging forward for FLAC version of new autobots theme, ut kinda sucks, that the best track is not present, but the whole score is great, but its a shame

Fortunately it was released in the EP, at least. 🙂 One thing i don’t get. The score is mostly in chronological movie order, at least as far as i can recall… except the very last track which should be right at the start. Not to mention the wonky name, since the "Knights Ship" is supposed to be the one used by Lockdown, and in that scene we only see the supposed Creators ships. "Extinction" would be more appropriate. 😀

I went through some of the pages in the thread, and it might have slipped past me, but I couldn’t find a link for the score. Does anyone have the score for this movie yet?

I know I shouldn’t be surprised at how lousy reviews the movie got, but it still hurts that Michael Bay is destroying my childhood memories more and more. Next up is product placement deluxe, uh, I mean Turtles, urgh.

I know the music is good in the Transformers movies though, and I really want the score.
