That’s it. In addition, I personally think it’s never wise to simply judge a score without having seen it connected with the visual experience – I mean that’s what film music is about, it doesn’t has to work as a merely melodic album, it has to mesh with the story of the film.
But there are a few cool tracks in the album.

Enjoy and Please Say Thanks 🙂

I agree and disagree. While it’s true you shouldn’t judge a score without having seen the film first (don’t judge a book by it’s cover), there are plenty of full scores out there that stand on their own. Hell, even some videogame scores. I’ve never seen Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune and yet it gets a weekly listening experience from me. I’ve never even touched Gears of War 2 let alone seen any game play, but I love that score and I listen to it all the time.
So I will remain optimistic that the score works well in the film (seeing it in IMAX next week), and I can appreciate it afterwards. But as of right now, Mychael Danna has let me down. At least he didn’t disappoint with Surf’s Up
Even the real fictional Tyrion isn’t that blunt! Thanks, OP!

DAKoftheOTA, save your money, see it on a standard screen. While it’s not as bad as the critics would have you believe, it’s nothing spectacular, either. Definitely not worth the price to see it in IMAX.
Thanks! =)
