The Lord of the Rings Complete Recordings going out of press?

Amazon has these listed new from some stores for something like $4000!!!???!?!?!!

Does anyone know any info about what’s going on?

I feel lucky to have bought the three sets, when they were $80!

Just found out it’s only The Two Towers going out of print/press. Pity for people wanting to buy the set new…

I only hope that The Hobbit doesn’t suffer because of this.

I always assumed all three were out of press as they’re usually only available from people selling their own personal copies. The Two Towers does seem to be the most sought after, given the high prices.

Apparently, The Two Towers never sold well, so that one only had one repress where the other two have had more. It’s a shame, though if I ever sell mine, I know I’ll get a good profit!

Or you could find one of the many who missed out and offer it to them for a reasonable price.
