This is my first vinyl rip. Feedback is appreciated!
Every time somebody transfers an LP like this, a kitten dies.
1. Your levels are way, way too high – leading to clipping and terrible distortion on almost every track, except those where the music barely rises above a whisper.
2. Your turntable is playing too fast and sounds generally knackered. It also sounds like your stylus is worn.
3. Background noise is astoundingly loud and there’s an odd scraping noise on every revolution. There is also a sound suspiciously like fingers being drummed along to the music at the beginning of the 1812 overture, and other unidentified rumbling, tapping, bumping sounds throughout the album.
4. The vinyl itself sounds worn, dirty, and not particularly well cared for…
Sorry to be on such a downer, but, you know… you asked. 🙂
I don’t think any kittens died around here, though. 🙂 Thanks for the feedback.
The turntable is new so I have no idea how the stylus needle could be worn, but I’ll see if I can improve some other bits – like the volume can definitely be fixed at least, speed, etc.
That’s what mega keeps telling me.
Decomposing composers. Poor Tchaikovsky. Rest in Peace.
