Right so here we go with the long awaited release of music from the game Star Wars: The Old Republic. First of all this is a partial release, followers of the other thread will know that other things have got in the way of this and what started out as something I was very excited about soon became almost a burden, to the point that I haven’t actually listened to any of this music for ages, which is a shame.
So what’s in this release I hear you say? We have 4 Discs that roughly follow our original idea and we have compiled 2 formats for release, a full mp3 only release produced by Sander and a mixed mp3/ogg release produced by myself (original ogg files included where available; see comments in () below):
• Disc 01 – General & Class Themes (all tracks mp3 apart from Revans Theme which is a combination of 2 tracks found in the release)
• Disc 02 – Planet & Event Themes (bother versions should be identical; all mp3)
• Disc 03 – Cantina Jukebox (mix of mp3 and ogg files or all mp3)
• Disc 04 – Backgrounds (either all mp3 or all ogg files)
• Makeb (either all mp3 or all ogg files)
• Complete rip (all ogg files)
What about all the other music? Well that is a good question and I personally unsure how to release them as they are generally an untitled / unorganised mess. We have all the in game names for the tracks but many have multiple (and I mean a lot) names so which do you choose?
I am of the opinion that we just release these in bit part additional releases as an when time allows or we just hand over all the stuff ‘as is’ for someone with more time on their hands.
Credits to the following people for making this happen:
My co collaborators – Sander (Exar Xan) and Carsten (Cartsen2011b)
SWTOR fan – massive credit for getting all the in-game titles, help with extraction, new music and much more
Usual Star Wars thanks – George Lucas for making Star Wars, John Williams for the original music and the composers on this project also led by Mark Griskey and Jesse Harlin
Peter McConnell for actually responding to my emails and helping me figure out artists for the Cantina Tracks.
Anyone that contributed in the early days identifying TOR tracks from the massive game rip
Anyone else I have forgotten, sorry

UPDATE Makeb expansion pack added. Rather nice little package of music that was easy to add; all names are in game names with running order decided by me; artists are my best guess based on the CE tracks they sound like.
Thank you for your patience and if anyone wants to assist (i.e. do the work whilst I ‘oversee’) with the remaining stuff please PM me.
UPDATE 2
Complete rip now added, I have taken out all the duplicates which brings this in at less than 1GB. I have tried to be consistent and leave as many files in one titled folder where possible (it will make sense when you download it) and leave them with a meaningful folder name. All tracks are just numbers but the folder names mean something, this is the best I can do. Hope people like this, any questions please feel free to ask and I’ll answer as best I can.
A-my
A-God
…
yay! 🙂
Still cool, haha.
Btw, totally random question: where’d you get the TOR font for your covers? I’ve been trying to find that for ages…
Thanks!
It was fixed the afternoon it was released. Now go enjoy! 😉
I have 5 unused tracks from Expansion Pack 2.0 which should be easy to do also; no in-game names though so Unused 01, 02 etc etc; stay tuned.
Short answer is no, anything marked with Ilum was borrowed from somewhere else, long answer is I can tell you which cues were used exactly if I remember tomorrow when I am at a PC.
EDIT: These were the cues used for Ilum (Background only)

TBH18, that’s the main title – as ripped from the game. When I grabbed Andrees’ game rip of TOR, that track was listed as "Main Title."
I own the Collector’s Edition of the soundtrack. The first track on that CD – which is the right before 1:44 in your link – is called "Clash of Destiny." I think the confusion is the main title suite might not be be named "Clash of Destiny" but it does includes it. I hope I helped out a bit.

Thank you very much!!, by the way, i check Andrees post, but i couldn’t find any active link of the rip, any chance you send me the link or the Main Title, please?
Thanks for replying, i will remember you on Monday 🙂
Looks like you forgot to post the cues, so I’ll just add them here. There are five different versions of the main theme (main, main_v2, alt1, alt1_action, alt2, alt2_action) and each have both a version with vocals and an instrumental version.

Also, while I was browsing through patch 2.8.2, I found some new music in /resources/bnk2/music_media.bnk. It may have been added a few patches back, but it has definitely not yet been in there a few months ago.
1-8: Tracks from the KotOR soundtrack
9-21: Ending / Level Complete cues
22-29: New, original music?
I am thinking that the last eight tracks are new music since I have never heard them before, but please tell me if you recognize them. I am assuming that it is either music for the Manaan FP, background music for our Strongholds, or music for the Makeb-sized expansion coming later this year.

Thanks for the new music, still no idea how to get the rest of the music out there in a way that would mean something to people rather than the garbled in-game names.
Oh, the KotOR feels… (╯︵╰,) I just hope that we can actually hear this music in-game and that it won’t just play during a single cutscene or be way too quiet.

Great job guys.
Edit:
Hmm, not so great job after all.
Some of the new tracks sound absolutely awful, you actually DOWNGRADED the original .ogg quality, Revan’s Theme was especially butchered. I have the original rip and the .ogg tracks range frmo 128kbit to 192kbit oggs, meanwhile here some are downgraded to 90kbit.
Sorry to sound ungrateful but I’m kinda disappointed, this release isn’t even complete.
I’d try to make my own take on this, but sadly you guys don’t want to release your tools, and making a release of my own without a way to extract the music with filenames kinda makes impossible to do anything.
Today the PTS for 2.9 became available for download, and I got some new music that was not yet added on Tuesday. Looks like they got really busy producing new music for the current content. 🙂

Is the release from first post missing any music that weren’t posted by you SWTOR fan?
I know this might be an annoying request, but will someone be able to compile enough material of KOTOR to create a complete score, no sfx? It was a pet project for the williams material belonging to the second trilogy :).
I made expanded soundtracks for KotOR1 and KotOR2 if you want, they’re still missing very few cues (because they have SFX in them), but they’re fairly complete.
I am especially thankful for all of the Catina track names though… so now I can re-name which ones that I did not know. Thank you for that!
Here you go: https://www.sendspace.com/file/679mn8
Is the release from first post missing any music that weren’t posted by you SWTOR fan?
Yes, the release in the first post does not contain all the music from SWTOR, after all a lot of the music was taken from the movies or KotOR and only a small part of it was original music. I believe that the release is missing some of the planetary background music, and instead only includes the main planetary themes. But I’m not entirely sure, Desaren will know that better than me.
Is there any more information on ‘unsorted’ files mentioned in the op?
Andrees: You were on the team at one point but had your own ideas or didn’t want to fall in with our plans. Also I didn’t handle the editing and maintained a wish for files to be kept as the original .ogg files (hence the 2 releases – MP3 transcoded to 320kbps and original .ogg files). If you have both Revan themes then you can make your own version.
I would like to release the whole lot, even if they are a jumbled, unorganised mess and may consider doing this if I can strip out all the duplications and non-TOR tracks. May even consider giving access to the spreadsheets detailing all the work we did in identifying the tracks.
For everyone else that likes what we’ve done, thank you, it means a lot.
Also the tools are not mine to share, they were provided by SWTOR fan and it is up to him if he shares them with anyone. Also he deserves much more credit than anyone as without him we wouldn’t have the meaningful names and folder structure we have (with the whole rip I mean).

They released several tracks before the game’s release in December, one of them was called The Mandalorian Blockade. The music heard at 1:44 and onwards is from that track… although, it’s without the choir.
Uploading the individual files would be meaningless IMO as you are back at square one, uploading the folder structure gives it some meaning but non of the tracks are named (filenames range from 20589.ogg to 1051231164.ogg, for example) and you have a lot of duplicates. Some folders just contain 1 track and are easy to name, for example folder playmusic_eventtheme_class_sith_calm_galaxymap just contains one track so could be titled Sith Galaxy Map (NB this is the same track as playmusic_eventtheme_class_sith_calm, to highlight the duplication).
So they’re the options available to us, either way will involve releasing non-TOR music as well but I’m open to ideas. I will not be uploading a several GB .zip folder in one hit, it needs a schedule of releases based on useable names. To go with each folder or batches of folders (i.e. all Tython folders) would be a list of what we know about each track (i.e. Beta filename, position in CE track, used elsewhere etc). This will take time, especially if I have to do it alone.
As regards to desarenezitic’s big collection of music. I’d love for you to upload any music that you have that has the beta file names. All of my music extractions are just the numbered ogg files.
Using your file as an example I can tell you what I know about this file from my information:-
Beta filename – 56B8C234_3BBF1CD1C0F2419B
In-game name – regionevent_balmorra_mainalt
It is the first part of Balmorra, The Forge but with no choir (so is not in Ballmorra, The Forge from the officially released tracks)
This would have formed part of our Alternates disc with other ‘no choir’ parts to form a choir less version
We have this kind of information for most tracks.
I myself have been extracting the sound bites from the game and saving the ones that I like. For example, the battle cries of Raptus and classic lines from TFB like "You will welcome death before the end."
Vakthoth, I have reuploaded the zip file for you. Here it is: swtor-spvp-music.zip – FileFactory (http://www.filefactory.com/file/2pvpi4j7xnc7/swtor-spvp-music.zip)
What is Shadow of Revan in the game? There are no other files with Revan in the name, just the 2 we used to make the Revan Theme. Or is it an expansion pack?
It’s an expansion, coming out next month.
Well then we’re in the hands of SWTOR fan as I have no access to game files or a way of extracting the music with file names. All expansion pack music has come via SWTOR fan.

SWTOR Fan, you’re our only hope!
different music plays for different types of classes or for the Republic or Sith.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Link now updated and working, apologies.

How’s your rip organised? Judging by the size you must have removed most duplicates if not all but it is quite a bit larger unless the latest expansion added loads of new music.
I tried to remove as many of the duplicates as possible, but there are still quite a few still in there I think. I didn’t go through the rip much yet, but I’m working on organizing and naming all of the tracks, which will take a while, but once done I can upload that so people don’t have to rename the tracks themselves.
Thread 185816
Thank you, glad you like it and consider it well organised!!
