On the continent of Polyphonica, people and spirits live together. Dantists are humans able to play special music by which spirits are able to release their powers.

On a moonlit night, a spirit of unparalleled power and a lonely human boy met on the roof of an orphanage. His name was Pholon Tatara. She, Corticarte Ap Lagranges, expressed her desire to form a contract with Pholon, but is interrupted and forced to leave. Although their meeting was short, a bond was indeed forged between them, and Pholon would never forget the events of that night.
