I haven’t seen this posted anywhere else, so if you are going to be a Rat Bastard and steal my post, at least give me credit.
Thank you KevinG.
Another great score from Miklos Rozsa.
Any chance to get the scans (booklet), thank you.
There, end of rant. I’m sure it made no difference whatsoever, but it did make me feel better.

Quite. Has anybody noticed that, whereas twenty years ago re-recordings with the LSO, RSNO, etc, were commonplace and frequent, now they are barely a trickle and the handful that do make it to fruition are with the likes of the City of Prague Philharmonic, Slovak Philharmonic, North-South-West-Eastern Municipal Orchestra of the Kazakh Amateur Youth Snooker Club, etc? I’m sure you can guess why.
These albums cost a fortune to produce and, even pre-mass piracy, they were always only just profitable. Stuff like "100 Greatest Sci-fi Hits" and "Hollywood Blockbusters Of The 1990s" sell pretty well but specialist interest stuff like this literally does not sell enough copies to recuperate the initial outlay of rights clearance, score preparation, orchestra contracting, conductor, engineer, equipment, venue hire, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, and distribution. Intrada will be lucky to break even with this one, let alone make a profit.
They do this because they love it, and they use sales from other releases to subsidise pet projects like this, but love alone can’t pay for an 80-man symphony orchestra.
If you only buy one CD this year, make it this one. Think of it as putting $20 into the Kickstarter fund for the next one.
🙂
and no thanks to the Rat Bastard.
This is a very worthy re-recording. It sounds great.
He certainly won’t.
Well, he (tapoktro) hadn’t given credit in many cases before, but in this case, to be fair, his upload is not the same, it’s in lossy 320k, while KevinG has provided it in FLAC. It’s another version, so no credit necessary to KevinG.
The source was Kevin`s upload 100 % sure he does this over and over again he converts the flacs to mp3 and post them in his crappy hosts ……
Thank you once again, my friend.
