While I don’t usually have access to unique content, I have definitely got something very special to share with you today.
This is the music to an indie computer game that I am involved in making.

The composer has been very kind to allow me to repost this for promotional purposes.
He would also very much appreciate any feedback you can give him, as this is still in development.
So please give this a listen and post here your thoughts!

"Hearts of Oak: Conquest of the Seas" is a non-commercial PC game that is to become the historical seafaring game to end them all!
Fun, realistic gameplay on land and at sea, set during the Age of Sail, will provide extensive free play, exciting scripted storylines and intense multiplayer scenarios.
Our goal is to allow anyone interested in the era to be able to live their dream!

The intention with the music is obviously to be appropriate for the time period,
but also be fun, original and adventurous like the seafaring film music of old.

CURRENT TRACK LIST:
01 – Main Title (finished)
02 – Rum Bonfire (sketch – people noise is just for effect, and will not stay)
03 – Far Away (sketch)
04 – Lands of Hope (sketch)
05 – Hoist the Flags (sketch)
06 – Mano y Mano (sketch – the piece will have other arrangements)
07 – Post Captains Lullaby (finished – rough mix) – Note: This is based on an actual unnamed period melody

Overall, I like this a lot, but the volume is a bit low.

The Mano y Mano track needs a bit more going for it.
I don’t know where the location of the track is used though, and I assume this is played during a duel from the name of it.

Thanks a lot for your comments, mate!

Overall, I like this a lot, but the volume is a bit low.You mean the music style is too quiet? Or you can hardly hear it?

The Mano y Mano track needs a bit more going for it.
I don’t know where the location of the track is used though, and I assume this is played during a duel from the name of it.I do agree with you there and that is something that will still be worked on.
The intent is to use it during sea battles and/or boarding actions.

I needed to increase the volume on my speaker to 100% to really hear most of what was going on in each track.
Not sure if the source volume is low or if it is just these files.

Not sure if the source volume is low or if it is just these files. That is quite odd. I MP3Gained the album, like I do with all my music, to an average of 89dB.
