Would you consider this cheating?

Using knights of the round to defeat Sephiroth… would you consider that "cheating"?

Not really, as it’s a legitimate element of the game. Now if for instance you had hacked in Knights of the Round into your inventory at the very start however, that would be cheating. 😉

Incidentally it takes two summons of KOTOR to take out Safer Sephiroth, so it’s still not enough to take him out in ‘one shot’.

Being a poor sport and cheating are two different things. Just sayin’

I think I’ve always used it to defeat Sephiroth, but after he’s done his nova thing…

It’s not as cheap as using a Phoenix Down on Neo Exdeath at the end of FFV.

I look at it this way…if you are going to put the time into acquiring Knights of the Round you might as well use it against tough enemies. Does it make things easier, sure, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

In some ways it could be cheating not using it seeing the convoluted process you go through to get it. Is using a walkthrough cheating? I just don’t find any game hints or anything to get gold chocobo. Are there any? in any case, use it on every monster if you want, since with mp absorb you don’t need to think about that.

Well, I listened to a podcast about the topic of cheating. Interestingly enough, those people claimed that even using cheats is not a bad thing. The most important thing about playing a game is HAVING FUN, right? As a child, I used cheats in strategy games because I wouldn’t have enjoyed them otherwise. Playing them improved my language abilities, so how can this be a bad thing!? Problems arise if you play with other people, like in WoW or Starcraft or EVE online or whatever. But even then, it is kind of an achievement to find an exploint in those well-maintained games.

I personally do not cheat anymore, as I want to beat the game all by myself. This made me play one level in one game more than a dozen times, and it made the joy of finally beating the level great! But I don’t judge on people who use cheats. So using Knights of the Round, which is a legal option, it not cheating for me. However, I dare you to try and beat the game without them 😉 If you like the game, this will be a nice challenge!

Knights of the Round isn’t cheating. It’s awesome.
