Thanks for sharing. I haven’t listened to The Fountain recently enough to compare but it does have that Mansell sound that drew me to him when I first started collecting. It isn’t anything like the Golden Age epics of old but I didn’t expect Mansell to write something like that anyway. I still have a ways to go before finishing it though so the tone may change slightly.

To be honest i was a bit disapointed with it, might go well with the movie, but very rarely enjoyable as a stand alone listen.

Depending on which version of the Bible you’re reading from, of course. King James, New King James, New International Version (NIV). I like that they decided to go with scripture as track titles, although I’m not happy that they removed God from the film. Track 17 should be "The Spirit of GOD Moved Upon the Face of the Waters", not "The Spirit of the Creator"

I see that bad. I think they want make it an epic movie more than a religious story.

Ya now I’m undecided…I wanted to see it before, but now…I don’t know. Maybe I’ll pirate it, or pull off a double-feature when I see Need for Speed

I’m irreligious and from my point of view and from what Aronofsky has said that it is a film inspired by the story from the bible, but interspersed with other fictional elements to make it a different retelling, not a rehash as such. Either way, why argue with the material of the film or the bible as both are mythological, not factual sources, making any retelling as true and as false as the supposed original story which really doesn’t hold up to reasonable scrutiny by any means…

I’m looking forward to seeing the film though and am hoping to see what Aronofsky has conjured up!

Don’t forget this is coming from the mind of a filmmaker who’s an atheist and there is absolutely ZERO mention of God in the film. And thus I have made up my mind, I will not be seeing this.

You’ve also gotta take into account that no one knows what the ark looked like but God and Noah and everyone else on board. The same can be said about Dinosaurs and all other prehistoric animals. So for all we know, the ark may very well have looked like that. It’s just not what we’re used to seeing

Can you imagine what the interior of the Ark smelled and looked like after roughly a year afloat? (Probably felt more like a coffin than a crate.) Now that would be a creepshow or horrorshow or crapshow. Noah and family probably used all that organic fertilizer to revitalize the land.

I respect your beliefs, but are you saying no one knows what dinosaurs and prehistoric animals look like? Really? I remember when Jurassic Park was released and not long after production, we discovered raptors and their kin had feathers! We can judge from many pieces of evidence, fragments mind you, we can correlate fossil records and radiometric dating, sedimentary layers, we know near enough to recreate what they would have looked like, even from the various flora and fauna in the periods in which dinosaurs roamed the earth. Whst does aronofsky being an atheist have anything to do with the quality of the story? You can be just as studious in theology without necessarily having faith in a creator…

It was, it could be argued, the original water world. (Once the rains stopped, it took more than 200 hundred days for the water to recede. Most of it went to the water rides at Disney, Six Flags and Sea World.)

But I digress. I wanted to says thanks for the music. Mansell crafted one hell of a score. (I’m seeing the movie tonight on the really big screen before CA:TWS devours all the IMAX and RPX theaters.)
