GENJI Days of the Blade (Yasuharu Takanashi) [GENH/mp3]

Now this one needs a little explaining since it’s been posted before here (Thread 60709).

The main difference is that this rip includes all the audio in its original multichannel form (original game data with added headers). Mine also has more tracks but I don’t know if they are new or from Dawn of the Samurai and some tracks appear twice (either looped or mixed differently). On stereo mixdown side the rips are definitely mixed differently for one reason or another – you be the judge which is better.

The main BGMs are all multichannel files (mostly 5ch, with some real and fake 6ch) but while they are playable with vgmstream they are definitely NOT MIXDOWN FRIENDLY! The front channels are amplified to the limits so beware! I have included a ‘safe’ looped mp3 mixdown version for your listening pleasure. Scream if you want a FLAC mixdown version, too, since I have it laying around – it’s bigger than the multichannel gamerip so for now I passed on uploading it.

The ending credits music is in multichannel FLAC because I had to edit it from cutscene audio. There are two versions – one that cuts the dialogue/sfx heavy intro (like in dm101’s rip) and one that is an attempt at preserving the intro by using the rear channels only (sounds rather shitty and still has some sfx but what can ya do). There’s a couple BGMs more in cutscenes but they are full of SFX and dialogue so I didn’t bother (except the 3 extra ones I did include from rear channels).

I love music that incorporates the sounds of traditional Japanese instruments. In fact, I was drawn to this forum by the Samurai Spirits Lossless Collection thread. That is possibly the best collection on this entire board, IMHO.

The more, the merrier, I say, since there is no official release of this soundtrack. I like the short tracks on this rip because they can be easily used on my phone as ring tones, alarms, etc. Thank you!
