It was 5-10 posts, then have to wait for it to be processed via the inner workings of the site

Like I said, from my experience it’s 5-10 posts til PM ability was activated. In any event, this question was answered in the thread I linked in my earlier post, hence there was no need to create a new thread asking this. I could comment further, but it’s kinda obvious as to which parts of the forum the OP has been in since 2010 (and I would think that by now, everyone knows my opinion of this kind of so called member of the forum).

The only ‘members’ who ask about this, are those who are (imo) being cheapskates and pirates.

Well, I certainly did not say that. I meant the remark to be humorous. While I am vaguely hurt to think that he would see me in that light, I do have absolute respect for the man. Those who are surprised or shocked by his attitude are just not paying attention, since his opinion and views, and his directness in expressing them has not changed even a teeny bit in all the years I have read him, and likely much longer than that.

I’m new here and am also wanting the PM active. I have 1 post out and this will be #2. I’ll sit on this over the weekend, then see if PM activates. If not, I’ll try for 5. I’ll let y’all know on Monday!

Update – my PM is now working with no additional posting!

I’m not really sure if having to post x times really prevents spam (or what is the reason?). Doesn’t it actually lead to spam, because everyone posts to get PM?

Who cares? Thems the rules. It is easy enough to dio. Perhaps it was more to encourage participation in the forums rather than mere lurking?

I believe it’s 5 until you can PM.
