I don’t know if it’s because my expectations were too high, but i think it’s kind of underwhelming! Maybe it’s the music or the humor. That being said everyone looks great! Too bad Rocket and Groot didn’t speak!

Credit where credit is due: Marvel is taking a chance with GOTG and I’m all for it. Looks like James Gunn got the tone right for the film – this is not going to be Avengers Ver 1.5 and shouldn’t be. Everybody looks the part and who doesn’t love a raccoon armed with a high powered automatic weapon and a 10 foot tall Ent?

Couple of thoughts:

After this trailer will never think of Blue Swede’s "Hooked on a Feeling" the way I used to. (Damn, but that "Ooga-Chaka" refrain works.)

Old school Walkman still work in the future. (Can’t beat good craftsmanship.)

The Collector looks pimp-tastic.

GOTG seems to be an origin story: however more the A-hole Team than the A-Team.

And cudo’s to Gunn and Marvel for keeping the on set ad-lib of "What a bunch of a-holes" in the trailer. Sets the stage for the entire film, don’t you think?

New trailer for GOTG drops Monday, May 19th. The 30 second tease Marvel is previewing the full trailer gives off a Serenity vibe: a group of bad guys doing good things for decidedly different reasons. Nothing wrong with that. Can never have too much Serenity in one’s life.

The full trailer did not disappoint. The film looks great, the actors are their characters and Rocket and Groot look "real." (I hope Tyler Bates delivers a knock out score. Love the use of "Spirit in the Sky." That and "Hooked on a Feeling" need to be on the soundtrack. Two great slices of 70’s American pop music cheesy goodness, with apparently more on the way.)

Yes, Thanos is in it. Apparently this movie is connected to Avengers 3, which will have Thanos has the villain.

how can you hate on tyler bates when you havent even heard the score yet??

I’ve never heard anything that I liked from him! His scores are either terrible or just not memorable. That’s how I feel about his music, I’ve got nothing against the man! I’ll still listen to the score with an open mind, and I hope he’ll prove me wrong and his score will delivering

It will be interesting to see how this film performers. The trailer doesn’t look very good (imo).
