Black Hawk Down – The Mogadishu Commemorative Edition – Hans Zimmer [FLAC]

Lets start the new year with something, well…..new or should i say different. like My Gladiator Ultimus edition this is not complete but again a representation of what we have from the original commercial release and the recently leaked complete score. If you are a completest you may actually like this edition. Its not true to film, several tracks here consist of different cues from the complete score to provide one great track so the pace isn’t lost. This is really for fans to have an alternate listening experience because seriously, not a lot of us are going to sit down through a 2 plus hour score of cues and themes being repeated and quite dull tracks that aren’t bad but work much better on screen rather than a standalone listen.

This was one frustrating project because volume was an issue. Because i was using tracks from the commercial release i wanted them to flow seamlessly with the complete score, its not perfect but i have managed to do it to a certain degree. also there were some extremely quiet tracks which needed to be lifted but when i did this loudness started to creep up within the track and distracted me from the listen. I have managed to do this but it took some time as i done this by hear and not by what i saw on screen.

There were a few tracks that a member here pointed out to add from the commercial, which i did for a couple but some tracks (no matter how wonderful they are) ruined the pace a bit because of sound differences and i didn’t want it to get to depressing in the middle and at the end i wanted to finish it in a nice note.

I hope you enjoy this as much as i have put it together (even though it was a bumpy ride) and remember this is a representation!

I was playing around with some of the tracks from the complete score. When i was listening to 5M28 (Going Back In-The Convoy) and 5M28Rmx (Blood & Treasure) i noticed the cues are identical and also have the exact same tempo. i thought it would be interesting to sync both of them together and what i heard was quite a more emotional and fuller sound. not part of the set but a nice alternative. Have a listen and let me know what you think.

I have just gotten your Gladiator Ultimus Edition, and it is, well, INCREDIBLE!!! 😀 Gladiator is, in my opinion, my favorite Hans Zimmer score and one of my all time favorite movie scores, and I can’t believe he didn’t get the oscar for it.. Anyway, Black Hawk Down is also one of my very favorite Zimmer scores, so as you can imagine, I NEED to have this as well, especially since it’s your edited version 😀

After the movie was accused that it is racist, showing only one black soldier Author Mark Bowden told, that indeed, there were only tow soldiers during the days around the mission, the movie shows 🙂
Read the book, or watch the movie with Bowden’s commentary for the proof.
