I believe this wasn’t posted already in the forum so here is the latest soundtrack edition of A Passage to India, by the great late Maurice Jarre.
This was the last time Jarre worked with David Lean. A collaboration that began with Lawrence of Arabia and continued with other milestones scores in the music career of Maurice Jarre like Doctor Zhivago and Ryan’s Daughter.
It’s largely a monothematic score. It is based primarily in the Adele theme, whose jaunty melody is, in my opinion, one of the bests composed by Jarre for a David Lean picture. The score is sporadically used in the movie, yet Jarre developed the theme in different ways to insert on key scenes, so the music can be at the time exultant, majestic and the next is mysterious and alarming.

A soundtrack that ends in a remarkable way, one of the greatest director/composer collaborations in movie history. Enjoy 🙂

Yes, but the CD has just been released so i won’t post it for now. Once the release is sold out (only 1200 copies pressed), or when the next batch of quartet CDs will be released, then i think will be a more appropriate time for a lossless rip.

This won Jarre the Academy Award in the same year Amadeus was released. He said during his acceptance speech: "I was lucky that Mozart wasn’t eligible." 🙂
