Thor The Dark World Score 2.0

I know this might be asking for a lot since I read somewhere that Brian Tyler doesn’t always release complete scores other than what is on his soundtracks but,

Other than what was on his 26 song 1:17:11 long score, I am sure that there is music from the movie that he did not release. If anyone has or may have access to additional music at any point from the movie in the future please let me know. It’s only been a month since the movie was released so anything else might not surface for a long time, I just would really appreciate it if I could get some help from you guys. I also read that he still has yet to release a complete score for Iron Man 3 so I’m just waiting for the highly improbable but still hoping that he does. Anyway thanks for your time and just keep me posted, thanks.

I am very good at determining exactly what is on the soundtrack and what isn’t even if it’s about 4 seconds long. I did this kind of thing with The Avengers.
Last night I reviewed half the movie and compared it to what he did provide on the OST. So far it’s at least maybe 60%.

Until vodly gets a copy of the movie in Medium quality or higher I won’t know exactly what is missing and what I can work with to help the rest of you out to know as well.

Does Brian Tyler even do complete releases of his scores? If not I wouldn’t hold out for his releasing Iron Man 3. I’m not too familiar with his stuff, so I really have no idea what I’m talking about.

Please don’t speak ill of DVD Audio Extractor but…

Almost every single time I ever tired to use it in the past, DVD Audio Extractor has worked usually without giving me problems. If it did I still usually managed to get what I needed off of it in the end. Although, every single time I ever tried to extract the audio from a DVD and make the score for movies that had Chris Hemsworth in them or his character hinted at the end of it, they have always caused me problems and in the end for the most part been a total failure. I tried to work with the disc several times from either one spot as with Iron Man 2 or the whole thing with the others and they still failed to work properly or extract what I wanted them to. I cleaned the disc and restarted my laptop but that didn’t do anything. Aside from the following examples (and with JAWS 2 where it just gave me the options of Mono or Stereo for the usual 6 channels I could obtain) DVD Audio Extractor has worked properly for me.

Star Trek (2009): Chapters chopped into bits and pieces all over the place, one second Spock would be turning down the academe, the next Kirk would be stranded on that ice planet.
Iron Man 2: Everything got extracted but that last bit with Thor’s Hammer, it cut off as soon as Coulsons car pulled up on the site (the only instance where more than 20% of the movie actually cooperated with me)
Thor: Program Froze on me and shut itself down, tried using brand new disc taken right out of the box that had the shrink wrap on it not even 20 seconds before I put it into my laptop and it still gave me a hard time
The Avengers: Program Froze on me and shut itself down, same deal as Thor

Given the fact that all those had Chris Hemsworth in it, I wouldn’t put it past something to go wrong in the manufacturing or something with the DVD for Thor: The Dark World and I am unable to get the DVD Rip.

That having been said I have one of three options:
1: Wait until a "High Quality" version of the movie is available online, download it, convert it to WAV and go from there
2: Wait for further music to come out which given the fact that people keep saying that Brian Tyler’s work is hardly ever completely released I still don’t know if I should bother waiting
3: Hope someone tries to extract the (6) channel audio chapters from a Blu-Ray and it actually works for them the way DVD’s usually work for me. They share a zip. or rar. file or something of all the ripped channels from the movie on ffshrine and work with the generously provided material.

This thread was made pretty much hoping that the other two would somehow work. I hope that you guys can help me because I’d really appreciate it. If someone DOES managed to get option 3 to work in March or something, please post it to ffshrine.

eac3to is created and maintained by someone who knows audio software.
with the right Arcsoft decoder you won’t have issues with blu-ray. not even DVD (uses ffmpeg/libav internally).

provided you decrypt the disc first.

i don’t know how many times i have to tell you that.
it’s very evident that DVDAE doesn’t work successfully, you provided plenty of evidence. small hopes and rare chances do not justify the means.

the ability and willingness to learn is what you do not have.
nor do you have patience.

you’ve seen me criticize others in their impatience and wanting a "one-click" solution complete with GUI’s and magic sparkles.

you’re only option, based on your character and everything you’ve exhibited thus far, is to wait for #3.

for #1) don’t download it. chances are you’ll download a movie with the DTS core only (lossy). there’s an infinite chance of ignorance on your part (and most of anyone who hasn’t worked with audio ripping).

for #2) you’ll lose sleep and die of anxiety before anything positive happens. you’re not patient enough to find out.

Just out of curiosity guys, my cousin wanted to leave after The Collector scene. Does anyone know how the music was arranged for the rest of the End Credits?

In all honesty having seen Thor: The Dark World and (regrettably) Iron Man 3, pretty much any material of interest is already on the album. The only reason to have every piece of music is if you are a ‘completest’. Most of those shorter tracks and cues that didn’t make it were just filler. Some minor variations of what was already released on the album, no need to quest for complete scores when we don’t really need one for either film. Good music, and the mastered tracks for the album listening experience is stellar enough as is, I won’t be adding any more to it, the combined tracks make sense and have an excellent sense of listen-ability, they flow together as one.

That’s just it, I don’t know.

Nothing but a suite of mixed cues throughout the already released score. Same deal with the Iron Man 3 credits.

It’s been a while since I watched the film but one track I recognized right off the bat in the first viewing was Into Eternity. It’s placed somewhere through the credits but I wouldn’t be able to recognize much else since I wasn’t familiar with the score just yet, and now that I am, I haven’t seen the film again to make sure.
