This took a bit longer than I expected, but here’s the soundtrack to The Minish Cap, without any of the Gameboy Advance static. This isn’t the result of editing recorded music files or putting them through plugins; each song has been recreated on a PC using files from the game. It was quite tricky. A huge thank you to Bregalad for his tools.
The album has been tagged mostly according to the GSF rip floating around the internet.

I hope you enjoy it. Thank you! 🙂
I wish there were more remasters like this for other GBA games like Mario & Luigi or the Castlevanias.
My only problem with it is that the tracks don’t fade out at the end. They just…end. It’s very jarring. I think there is software that would allow me to do that, but I’m not good with music software.
Thank you very much for your work nonetheless!
This is amazing. I had the one with static, and is it a night and day difference.

Yeah, it’s quite a bother! It’s mostly because of the method used. There are no loop points to work from at all.
Fortunately, I managed to manually fix most of the tracks and I’ll be uploading the updated version really soon on MP3. I’ll upload the FLAC update in a couple of hours, as I really need to get some sleep. 😛
Edit: Okay, all done. If there’s any problems let me know. 🙂
Just how exactly did you do this? I’m interested in some specific GBA songs and I’d like to do the same you did. 🙂

Gonna have to second this, would be great to have this done to other GBA games like Donkey Kong Country 3, since the songs there are exclusive only to the gameboy advance version 😛

Thanks. But could you please explain with more detail how to get the high quality samples and make the soundfont, and then play the MIDIs in that soundfont? 🙂

I could listen to Temple of Droplets for hours. One of my favourite Zelda tunes.

I hope you enjoy it. Thank you! 🙂
You forgot a track, the unused fanfare of the Dark Hyrule Castle theme.
Already been done. Google "mother 3 ultimate music rip"
If it were only possible for a few other games, I’ll be glad. If I had to pick one track to do this it would be… hmn… only one that comes to mind is from Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2004 5th tiers. LOVE THAT Track… I probably do have more but it’s the only one I can think of since I just heard this not too long ago.

I don’t notice this what are you using to listen to it, seems maybe a little louder but not unlistenable by any means.
With GBA that’s sadly it, GSF is most accurate but the output is limited by the GBA hardware, while SF2+MIDI sounds better but is prone to inaccuracies. If possible, it’s usually worth it though.
