Well, now, I suppose, this score-year can be called completed?)
It will be hard not to listen though…
Thanks a lot 🙂
though knowing PJ, half of it will be edited out of the movie anyway
thankyouthankyouthankyou…

Same, I’ll wait but U can say if it’s awesome or not for those who listen to it. And if it’s better and more themes than first Hobbit. Was kinda deceiving from my point of view about new thems and epic songs.
Give feedbacks guys 🙂
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Only thing that sucks is that there isn’t almost any choirs this time around.
By the time the movie comes out I will know the score from my head and it will be curious to see how much is actually used or replaced by LOTR temp tracks.

Yeah there’s a lot fewer soloists this time around. The sound is fantastic though! And I really like the themes for Tauriel and Smaug.
many many thanks
Favourite tracks: Beyond the Forest, Smaug, My Armor is Iron which has a great climax, and The River Forest!
It’s nice to hear the themes from the first film develop and evolve here which was what I was hoping for and to quell those idiots who kept on complaining about how the first score was disappointing.
Anyone have the Special Edition? There’s already multiple uploads of it up on Youtube at the moment, but I’d love to get my hands on a good quality version before I give the whole thing a proper listen to.
*EDIT* Oops, sorry guys, apparently the version on Youtube is the standard edition. My bad, I guess we’ll have to wait for the release date to get our hands on that!

Also add to them;” Barrels Out of Bond, The Hunters & Flies and Spiders ”.
Oh gosh, those three tracks we’re freaking awesome, i see there’s no much of choir but this time the music is decent.
Conrad pope really did it, his orchestrations are amazing like his work for Desplat, and everyone can see that.
Sooo happy.
There AREN’T any Special Edition tracks on YouTube. Just Standard Edition edition tracks with the COVER ART of the Special Edition.
Knew that, just asking if some had surfaced around the interwebs thing.
Already posted on the first page.

Trust me, if it surfaces it’ll make its way to the shrine within a few hours.
Does it include the action variation of the Misty Mountain motif anywhere? You know, the variation used during the getaway in the goblin’s lair in An Unexpected Journey, but was criminally not included on any official version of the soundtrack? (Would’ve been found within the track "Brass Buttons." An F/X ridden version of this motif in that track is included in an unofficial, complete release that’s floating around.)
plus it seems more like that motif was just pasted into the film score, rather than it being taken out of the OST
My edit has it with no F/X.
Interesting. In the one I have, you get a few strong seconds of the motif, but F/X cuts in right at the end of it. Is your edit F/X free?
By the way, I’ve listened to the track again and that particular motif doesn’t seem so "cut and paste" as has been previously suggested. Plus, the energy of that arrangement is unique to the other variations of the Misty Mountain motif used throughout the film, so it doesn’t appear to sourced in from another spot in the film, unless it’s from an alternate/unused cue, but to me, it seems like it really does belong in that scene. I can’t believe it’s not in the official releases anywhere.
Nah, they decided on that months before the score was recorded.
especially ‘Out of the Frying Pan’ feels like it went along with a shorter fight scene between Azog and the dwarves

You might have my old version, I was able clean that cue up, also, it was most likely an insert, recorded to replace what was there before.
even so, the score might have been finished before all film shoots were made

It was, the scene with Bilbo rescuing Thorin was a pickup, originally, Azog defeated Thorin, then the Eagles showed up.

Enjoy and Please Say Thanks 🙂
There where a lot of complaints that it felt out of place for Azog and I remember reading from Doug Adams that it will all become clear in the second movie why that particular music was chosen. However the theme isn’t featured at all on this soundtrack. Such a shame because the Nazgul theme is my favorite LOTR theme so far.

I might be around, either in the film or in the Special Edition. The Nazgul theme in Unexpected Journey wasn’t on the soundtrack, so it migth be around.
PJ was off his head and I think Shore was like WTF?
