Thank you once again, my friend.
Welcome!
All links active now.
THANKS !
On a side note, though I don’t have any illusion on the quality, would by any chance, anyone have a clue as to where I could find the Remo pilot (DVD or hum-hum). I’ve always been curious as to what TV coul have done with this and never could find one.
Cheers!
The only place I have ever seen it was on YouTube awhile ago.
Thanks. Will check again but when I looked for it on youtube (OK, one or two years ago I must say), there was only the first few minutes, with Chiun presenting himself and his pupil.
BTW the actor (don’t remember his name but he also starred in a serie called Raven alongside Lee Majors) had a haircut SO of the times… 🙂
Bigfatvirgil : For what I’ve heard the production value was TV fare so less than the Guy Hamilton movie starring Fred ward, but the scenario was nearer the source material and somewhat better. That’s why I’d like to see it, even with the 80s look of the lead part. And BTW, Chiun was played by ubiquitous Roddy McDowall.

Found it here – quality isn’t so great, but what the hell. Roddy McDowall makes a pretty decent Chiun in my opinion.

Welcome! Let me know what you think of it!
And for the video link (curious about that as well – always really liked the movie and the original score by Craig Safan)
As I remembered from Raven, Meek is pretty awful actor. McDowall is fine, even though the makeup doesn’t even remotely compare with the movie’s.
But the story is indeed finely written and it is rather enjoyable.
THAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS !
(now back to the score ; nice idea to use Safan again as he could reuse his very good themes from the movies)
The score, IMO, was the best thing about the pilot 🙂
Totally agreed 🙂
(but still good to have seen it, after years wondering what it could look like)
Bizarre that the US Navy did not realise the USS Indianapolis was sunk in the latter film until four days later, even though distress calls were sent – three stations received the signals but none acted on them. One commander was drunk, another had ordered his men not to disturb him and a third thought it was a Japanese trap!
Thanks Doctor!
