Another great share… I can actually provide a bit of the provenance. The cassette tape came to me in San Francisco in the 1980s. It was transferred to digital WAV (which I still have… somewhere) using Cool Edit 2K. Flight to Mars as well. I’m guessing you will want the WAV files. It’ll take me a while due to laziness, ignorance and so on… But i can find ’em and get them up somewhere or other.
Hmm. Maybe the Queen of Outer Space differs from my copy after all. But I recognize the inane cue titles of my old rip of Flight to Mars.

thingmaker, they’re probably both different versions. FLIGHT was 8 long tracks, which I edited into 17 separate cues and used track names from another rip (yours, I guess). I thought this version sounded better (sorry). Wish someone knew where the rest of the score is, and what the unused cues go to.
I have cds of most of my uploads, so I dont need the waves, although someone else might.

thingmaker, do you have the wave files before they were noise-filtered (with Cool-edit)? The files have been comb-filtered, which give it a sort of ringing metalic sound and flangey washing. Much better noise reduction methods exist now that won’t alter the music as much.

postcardsky, I have another version I can upload, too. It was missing some cues which this one has (which is why I uploaded this one instead). I had to supplement it with rips from the vhs tape. It would be interesting to hear thingmaker’s version (I’m always looking to upgrade when possible).

Hi sadsack, if you listen to the film and compare it to these files, you will notice the difference. For example, the queen’s entrance or the seduction scene with it’s delicate space-cocktail music. It definately has comb filter "ringing" and "breathing" from adaptive noise filtering. I’d be interested in hearing other versions.

I think we can all agree the first QUEEN upload is too cleaned up (I didnt do it!); it’s saving grace is it’s more complete.

Ok, here are my fixes. This is the best sounding version of this soundtrack right now. It also includes many missing cues from the film with dialogue. Sadsack, can you download this and upload it again, and if you approve of the quality, put the file into the original post.
