This is the original MCA CD version, with smooth + clean, full dynamic-range sound. Recent re-masterings (many genres, esp. pop/rock) are unfortunately subject to loudness-war emphasis. Older CDs seem to be getting some new-found respect in this regard. E.g., for this 1992 MCA title, I noted a very respectable DR13 average, and with one track going up to DR16.
