tehparadox.com It’s Gone This cant be good..

So woke up this morning and tried to visit the tehparadox.com OST thread to find that the entire website has been shut down due to a copyright violation. This is very concerning. Could the FF Shrine receive the same fate?

I just noticed that! I guess private torrent trackers are the best choice now. Tehparadox admins probably weren’t quick enough in moving the site to a pirate friendly country (piratebay moved and stayed on line).

It’s not concerning, at all. It’s how piracy works.

thepiratebay is constantly changing hosts all the time.
I’m sure TP will resurface, but under a new domain. tehparadox.gov, for example.

And, yes, Shrine can receive the same fate. There are no exceptions and no one plays favorites.

FFshrine is better then tehparadox.com sorry to say that but it s true .Maybe will come back one day.

Most of the film score stuff that ended up there started from here.

I love FFShrine, but tehparadox.com is good too… so… i think there are a risk of shutdown for FFSHRINE too 🙁

Another highly popular site also went down a few days ago, a warez site. But that’s somewhat unrelated. It was a hack job and the admin was revealed to be a child rapist and other stuff.

The internet is fucked up right now. If this site goes down, all hell is going to break loose.

To my knowledge Tephradox had financial issues thats why it has gone.

Worse? In all honesty, I think it’s legit to close forums: they do get a lot of traffic basically for the same reason Galbadia Hotel does [I’m referring to Downloads]. I’d dare to say that, mainly thanks to Galbadia Hotel and Download Links forums, the ffshrine.org domain has to provide much more bandwidth to its userbase, just look at the amount of digital data it is hosting, I don’t think servers capable of handling this kind of "stress" come for cheap. Also, but this is just a personal experience, TehParadox suffered from a lot of Server Timeout/Bad request(s). To me it was offline more often than the Shrine.
I do agree that this place requires a lot of money to run, there’s no denying that, but let’s not forget that it is also hosting a lot of stuff on its servers… And it’s been doing so for years.

This forum is amazing and I hope that he will stay turn on forever haha. I do agree that this place requires a lot of money but I agree with Leon Scott Kennedy that TehParadox suffered from a lot of Server Timeout.

tehParadox had a much larger community, with more than a few willing to donate. I saw one thread where an unemployed dude wanted to donate pennies to tP.

Do you really think there’d be an FFShrine if those ‘you have to donate if you want the site to turn back on’ messages hadn’t been there?

What I think is silly is that obviously 98% of the bandwidth FFshrine consumes is down to GH, and yet the entire site closes when the bills need paying, holding forum citizens to ransom – they stump up because they’re left with little choice.

I haven’t touched GH since 2007, but I find the forums valuable, and I respect the time and money Sarah puts in – so I donate… but I am painfully aware that my donations subsidise GH users who don’t pay ANYTHING, whilst myself and other forum users who donate – folk who are consuming a comparatively negligible percentage of bandwidth – essentially put up 100% of the shortfall.

I’m not saying I have a better option… only that the present system strikes me as somewhat unbalanced…

I think they’re doing right by closing the forums. If they kept the forums open, nobody would care about donations. If they didn’t do that, we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.

I like tehparadox. The only worthy section in the music section is the trailer thread with actual lossless music.

The movies/tv threads are duplicates of other forums so no big loss there.
It was just easier to navigate than other forums.

I miss the huge trailer music thread on paradox. Where shall be the new place for trailer music sharing?

I cannot believe this is happening….That was the only forum i frequent, and i mean all hours of the day. Both discussion and resources. I know Cardman uploads on another forum but i cannot remember the name of it.

I feel sick, this has literally ruined my weekend.
I wish i knew if their was another place most of the users went….but i doubt it. I had a lot of friends on there. FFS now what do i do with my time???

I go outside all the time…i work outdoors and i go to the gym everyday. However, most of my friends resided on that site.

I keep hitting the TP bookmark out of forced habit and am greeted by those god damn words every time 🙁

There was a lot of good people on that forum. I really hope you are right about it resurfacing, and hopefully soon. In the meantime, i will familiarize myself with this site. I am sure there are great people here too 🙂

‘They’? It is only tehPARADOX who owns the site…there are moderators like Gandolph13 and Shin and a handful of others, but the facebook page is only updated by tehPARADOX himself, as far as i know.
I too, am hoping there will be a news update soon.

No… the film score stuff there did NOT come from HERE. A great deal of the rare recordings that I have offered HERE I collected from THERE before major download sites shut down maybe 3 years ago. Flac recordings. But Paradox has been suffering from neglect for some time, other than trailer music. Where do you think all my TSFH came from?

And if this site doesn’t start cleaning up its act… as noticed by others than myself… it being a sharing site yet only a handful of people share while the majority just worm out of the woodwork, grab, and run… well, I’m content that my threads/links die and I’m not bothering to RE UP anything.

This is a bit of a shame.

FFS is my first stop for d/ls, but TP was my second stop followed by Bolt.

Hope TP regularly backed up their files and manage to find a new server.

I think the mods should make it so that all new registering members have to read and "agree" to a page that tells them Cardman is not here and there will never be a download section for TV and movies and Cardman.

So many losers signing up today just to cry over nothing.

And fans of Jerry Goldsmith. TP had the biggest, all flac, collection of ANYTHING done by Goldsmith and was regularly updated. Hence all these posts by Yannis at FF have actually been redundant if you knew where to look. Allllll gone now.

Misguided ones might be more accurate. I follow several forums where links are published and also followed TP several years.

It was quite tiresome following what was new and available in TV series, and this guy did provide a very helpful service to many people. Soon there were some others that started a daily updated page, so I do hope that trend becomes popular on other forums.

Well do you remember that idiot WitchDoctor? fairly new member but a genuine moron. I was in contact with him for whatever stupid reason and he mentioned he was in the middle of writing a script to attack the site. He said he didn’t know what he was going to do, but that he wanted to ‘practice’ on TP. I thought he was full of himself but now i am wishing i had of said something. It was two days before TP went down.

Hopefully it will be back up shortly. TP mentioned that if this happened they will keep us informed on Twitter. A few months ago TP posted a list of alternate domain names.
