Well, fuck. Had no clue this wasn’t legit FLAC. And trust me, if I had known it wasn’t, I would NEVER have posted it. I’m not too schooled on checking FLAC files for their legitimacy. There is a member on here who shall rename nameless who is famous for transcoding MP3 to FLAC and it bugs the shit out of me. I don’t understand why the person does it, but whatever. "Likes"? Who gives a shit about likes? I certainly don’t. I saw the request for Gravity in FLAC, and uploaded what I have . I was unaware of the stream rip posted above.

Just FYI to the people, I just saw the film. The 3D was very well done, it was made properly – it’s a shame Hollywood usually pushes the post-production conversion on so many films. The movie itself was very good, although I thought it would be a little bit better. Still thoroughly enjoyed it, it was very thrilling.

I went for a matinee 3D. When I have no one to go with, I’ll see a matinee solo. Regular 3D is about $15. Matinee 3D was $12.75. But this is NY, one of the most expensive states in the country. Still, I recommend it. If not 3D, at least see the film if you can at all. I loved it. Sandra Bullock is my favorite actress so that only made the film that much better for me. Also, there’s a reason it was the highest grossing film of the weekend, and the most successful October opening of all time 😉

Thanks for the upload! Incredible, incredible soundtrack. But would one expect anything less from an Alfonso Cuar�n film?

I did notice the lower quality as early as the first track (the peak of that crescendo, tho!). Quite noticeable in the concluding piece (was doing quick jumping around). Noticed the 16kHz cutoff in foobar’s Waveform Seekbar. Came back here, obid confirmed my suspicions. So I found a different rip. I’m uploading it now, and I’ll post the links soon as they’re done.

I saw this movie yesterday, in IMAX 3D. And I have to say… WOW, what an amazing journey. A little bit short but definitely a movie that met my expectations (and beyond). Talking about Photo Realistic CGI, forget about The Hobbit, Avatar, go see this and be amazed how realistic everything looks. You actually believe they are out there in space. This must be one of the best visual effects created movies EVER. Bullock really is on top of her career with this one, she literally transmits her feelings to the screen, you can feel her pain, you can feel her emotions, just fantastic acting overall. I was turning and twitching in my chair just to avoid collisions and impacts, I was completely taken over… never experienced this before.

As good as the visuals are, let’s not forget about the music, which (to me) is a big thing in this movie. Very clever editing by Cuar�n and his team makes the music that much more compelling over traditional scoring. They replaced the sound in space, which of course has none, by incorporating sound FX into the music but done so geniously well you forget it’s actually music and not an effect. It comes from all the surround channels and makes it that more of a key element to the movie. I really can’t express how greatly this was done, and I really dare to say it will set a standard for movies to come (both the visuals and music). I hadn’t listened to the soundtrack beforehand (and usually I get a sneak-peek) and oh boy am I happy about that. The total experience (and surprise) is so much more immersive than I had expected. And after listening to the soundtrack all day today, it really brings me back to the movie, understanding how Cuar�n was able to cope with technical difficulties and tricking the ear. Just amazing how the effects were transferred into the score. Steven Price, a relatively newcomer in the scoring business but lots of experience in the music editing field, nailed it… definitely shows he’s an highly skilled composer. A name to remember the coming years.

I’m still in awe… still can’t believe how this was technically achieved, CAN’T WAIT for the bluray to come out and to discover how the genius Cuar�n managed to make this higly sophisticated movie into one of the best movies of the last decade.

When I first heard the score (before I had seen the movie) I didn’t much care for it, except maybe for the last track. Now that I’ve seen "Gravity" several more times (yes, several), I can’t stop listening to the score. What an experience! What a fantastic movie! Definitively my favourite movie this year!
