It would be handy for certain scores where certain instruments (choir, woodwinds, bass) had a low mix. I do something similar with Goldwave, with the noise reductor. It allows to isolate a few parts and others are silenced.[COLOR="Silver"]

Well I’d love to use it to remove the vocals and echo from the 5.1 surround sound mix of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ (SACD highlights album) to create a surround sound version of just the score alone to listen to on my home cinema system. Having had a look at all their videos and considering their prestigious client list (major studios and record labels), this should be child’s play where their forthcoming software release is concerned!

Something to play around with in the meantime 🙂

Thanks for the info. I can imagine using it for existing music to create better, more discrete 5.1 upmixes as well. Something I love to experiment with for fun.

I’m just trying out the very basic demo from 2010 that I found the above links to (automated process – you add the file, select the output directory, how many output files you want and then press de-mix basically).

I’ve tried this demo software numerous times and each time with poor results
It’s probably helpful for some "rarely" uniquely mixed tracks where you can use "fingerprints" to remove audio based on fft noise cancellation.

Warez sites, like the one you linked to (not sure if that’s allowed on this forum) are the only way to get your hands on that demo now.
All sites that used to have active links to promote the software (legitimate promoting sites to download demos and software; official music blogs, etc) have taken down their links, including Audinamax.

I played around with it to try do something with Tiny Tim’s "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" but didn’t have enough patience.

It would wonderful if studios acquired licences to release a 5.1 surround sound mix of "The Best of" for Edith Piaf.
The 5.1 work achieved deserves more attention.

lol, I was too excited over this technology.

I’m still trying to find the best Blu-ray version of La Mome.
The final scene to the movie is 5.1 mix of "Non, je ne regrette rien".
It’s not as dynamic and "surround sound" as the little clip in the Inception end credits, but there’s still some nice qualities to it.

The biggest problem, I’m finding is that the BD’s from every country are literally in different formats: DTS-HD MA 5.1, DTS-Express 6.1, Dolby TrueHD, etc.
I have no idea which one has been given proper treatment to keep the original audio as intended.
DTS-Express is out of the question, as that’s lossy audio and very messy to deal with.

The next problem with that film is the frame rate!
24fps would be ideal to get. Any PAL regions that convert fps to 25fps is not ideal for me.
I can’t trust what they do.
NTSC framerates would be okay, but not usually in the blu-ray audio format I’m looking for.

I want to get the movie so badly because A) It’s good B) I want to remaster this (just the first 30 seconds (http://youtu.be/TvvTm33xyDU), I didn’t upload the short "Alarm Version"; my old account, can’t remember the sign in!)

I’ve been familiar with them for sometime and this is the first time I’ve seen them talk about releasing a full singing and dancing software version of their process. Also, I’ve actually got some industry friends who could probably get a copy when it finally becomes available (see link – Software | Audionamix | Superior Sound Separation Software & Services (http://www.audionamix.com/software/)), but in the meantime, spotted this old demo version from 2010, which I’ve since found to be a pile of pants! I certainly can do a better job using the technique I uncovered (cross phase inversion on surround soundtracks) and really don’t know why they bothered releasing this pile of crap in the first place. Still, the proper software itself may provide those with access to it a way of removing vocals, dialogue and FXs cleanly from soundtracks, which the company have been doing professionally for a few years now. We shall see…

That would be nice. If it isn’t heavily protected with dongles and whatnot.

I haven’t heard any news updates from them so I can only hope what they’re doing is really perfecting it with all the testing from the pre-release testers.
I imagine everyone that’s been approved for testing do have access to more efficient software updates that actually do stuff.
Plus an entire suite of different programs that allow for so much more flexibility and dynamics.

From the questionnaire on their site, it seems they may have plans to create a VST plugin or some sorts (since they ask what software we use).

If things go right and I get into school next year, I’ll sign up for testing and mark down "student" for everything. 😉
