Is this really orchestral score performed by live musicians (at least to my ear it sounds that way) written for a… browser game? I guess it’s just, well, Japan ;).

Whenever Takanashi is involved there is ALWAYS live orchestral music =).

Yes, but you don’t need to know Japanese too well to figure this out. It’s an anime series airing next January and both the website and Wikipedia Japan lists Yasuharu Takanashi as the composer.
