Really enjoyed the film, surprisingly… but sadly the score is not a patch on Giacchino’s former glories (IMO, that is!).
Very happy to hear this!
Another great Giacchino score, even if the main theme sounds awfully similar to Marion’s Theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Thanks thanks and more thanks!!
Oh, come one. All of us who had it knew it would be posted sooner or later
But in my oppinion should only write Video Game Music!
Everytime i listen to his film music, i think it doesnt work as a standalone thing like its with Star Wars!

I think Giacchino has moved beyond game scoring. He can keep up with the pace and movement of the film with his cues and clearly the people who hire him would agree.
I think it does work apart from the film as it is just about the only thing I remember from the film. I happened to find the film average with a few shiny moments which stood out, but the score is the highlight here and I’m happy to have about as much music from it as I can get!
I stand to be corrected…. Its FLAC…… now to see if its true lossless
On a side note…. I only bought the OST yesterday……. Go Figure 😉
No I dont have a Link…. Ill leave it up to your creative juices 😉
Also folks…. these files are note true Lossless… they are transcoded MP3 Files 🙁
Update some files are Lossless and some arent
Just as a sidenote, this isn’t complete. There’s several cues missing, some of them on the official soundtrack and a couple which alas remain unreleased. But it’s still great to have the new stuff!
Do you know which tracks from the OST are missing and where should they be placed?
"To the Custom Edit cave, Robin!"
Do you know which tracks from the OST are missing and where should they be placed?
Let’s see… These are missing:
3m28 – Temple of Issus (same title on official soundtrack)
4m29 – A Father’s Intuition (remains unreleased)
5m41-42 – A Thern Warning (same title on official soundtrack but second half of cue remains unreleased)
6m45 – The Right of Challenge (same title on official soundtrack)
6m46 – The Prize is Barsoom (same title on official soundtrack)
6m47 – The Fight for Helium (same title on official soundtrack)
6m48 – Not Quite Finished (same title on official soundtrack)
7m50 – Thernabout (same title on official soundtrack)
7m51-52 – Ten Bitter Years (same title on official soundtrack)
Also, some of the soundtrack cues are edited or suites so it’s hard to compare with this leak to see what’s really missing but this is it, as best I can tell.

Right. And the sheets aren’t 100% complete, so it could be some alternate cues missing.
Thanks!

I’m not criticizing this release, I’m very thankful for it, just a question I have always wondered about. I tend to continue to listen to the OSTs most of the time, especially in a car, because of the volume difference. I’ve tried using something like audacity to raise the volume but I never seem to get it right. I’m just not that talented when it comes to music editing.
I hope one of are masters of remasters, like SonicAdventure and others, take this one and create a deluxe edition.

Thats because they are Mixes…. normally these arent Mastered
That’s your problem right there. Audacity sucks major balls at trying to raise the volume. I used to use it, but that was before I got my Mac that came with Audition pre-installed. Audition is a great program, it’s what I use for my vinyl rips (I have to use Audacity to record, unfortunately). But I’m told it’s a very expensive program, so if you don’t have it nor the funds, I guess Audacity is what you’re stuck with
A perfect example of this would be the Blu-ray iso score for Oblivion. It sounded terribly low compared to the OST, because the OST was mastered and the iso wasn’t. So I imported each track into Audition and tweaked the decibel level where it needed tweaking. Now it sounds better than ever
No… ALL OF US did not have it. So stuff your negative blithering and just stick to harping endlessly about Inception.
(and try ending your posts properly so we don’t have to puzzle over your abundance of joy)

No one is every happy with stealing music. Tragic.
Thanks for this offering! I think it is the composer’s BEST Work of his career.
So there.
If you read my post which you quoted (so I’m assuming you did) I said "All of us who HAD it". HAD is the keyword here. Not have, had.
No one is every happy with stealing music
And this makes no sense.
Next time you attempt to call me out on something, I suggest you fucking do it properly, cause the way you just did makes you look like an idiot. "So there"

hmm now which ones new york and whic ones pumkin
Can you stop that?
Indeed, it is distracting from the thread. I haven’t listened to the full score yet, but already I can say that I love the main theme. I have a Blu-ray rip and keep meaning to watch the film. I appreciate a score more after I’ve seen the film
When you get new Making of Return of the Jedi book let me know if its any good an worth buying the others

Anyway, nothing fancy here but just another option for those interested. If you like, you can download from the blog:
If you want artwork done in chronological order, you could ask nicely. If you don’t, then why bring it up at all?
On the other hand, you did remind me why I stopped posting covers here, so thanks for that!
every body seem to want to keep a tracklisting with mistakes…
Hope for more to appear soon…
It’s still not complete though, even with the CD tracks (which have edits). "A Thern Warning" in particular is over seven minutes long in the movie and an important action sequence is chopped out of the CD track. That’s the bit I really wanted to hear and it’s disappointing that it’s not here (although I do appreciate what we did get, of course).

Here it is, in ALAC, if you’re interested. I don’t have it in FLAC or 320. You should be able to convert it though. This includes the album tracks that were missing, as well as A Father’s Intuition.
