"Recently, I discovered Dittersdorf quite by accident and have been utterly delighted with myself ever since. Dittersdorf is highly under rated/presented these days, which is somewhat ironic when you consider the fact that he was extremely popular in his own time. Almost an exact contemporary of Mozart, his music is very reminiscent of the young Maestro. Of note: listen for the clear influences of Vivaldi and Bach, then bask in the Mozartian combination. It makes for a great study."
