Nope. I don’t expect they’ll have any remixes in CLOS2 either.

honestly, the soundtrack is damn annoying in the game . AT first looks cool and all, but eventually, you just want silence and that the music just stops.
The game is a castlevania game, no doubt about that. But, classical pieces of old Castevania games….? I dont think we will ever see that again.

Thanks for arranging the files into an album, it’s too bad about the original bitrate but eh. At least once the official OST comes out we will have some of the tracks in better quality, too bad that most OSTs these days are heavily incomplete.

Also some things I’d like to point out, you titled tracks 36 and 37 as unused, when they are in fact used in the game. 36 "Exploration" is actually heard in one of the swimming sections as Alucard or Trevor, not sure which one right now without checking in game. 37. Combatant is definitely also in the game but I can’t tell you at which point. And the track "Ovens" is actually Trevor’s theme, you can hear it in the cutscene where Trevor departs to the castle and when he’s ascending the throne tower.

I doubt that there will be a soundtrack released for it. From some years now, gaming soundtrack have been having such a bad treatment.
a) no stand alone releases, in which every one can buy, is released. Specially of strong titles like this one with years of survival…
b) you can only get a lousy definition of a soundtrack if you pre-order the game or that comes with limited editions. I say Lousy definition of a soundtrack because it is more a best off then a real actual soundtrack.
c) This Lousy definition of a soundtrack is released for everyone to buy… but what the hell. It misses so damn much music, that I won’t feel like wasting money on a soundtrack if I am going to buy and most of my favorite songs are not even there.

So I say, Fuck It and Long Live !!!!! for doing a job better then the official stuff. At this point I wonder. Are these gaming companies people trying to Shit on Us?

Yeah we know about the OST release, !!!!! told me about it when I sent him the gamerip for arranging. I’d rather have a complete gamerip at lower quality personally than a vastly incomplete OST…

exactly how I think.

Since I have the RE6 official soundtrack, I hear !!!!! version more times that I can count. Its’ up to you how you enjoy the music, but personally, I prefer to enjoy it in it’s fullest.

Sumthing released a Lords of Shadow digital soundtrack with many more tracks then the CD OST however the quality is MP3 only.

I was looking for a cover that had all of the main characters myself but couldn’t find a good one.

I don’t have the Digital OST but I would assume they’re 320kbps MP3 because when you purchase you don’t have the option to pick what kind and that’s kind of the poor standard american digital music retailers have.

Too bad you don’t, hopefully someone will upload it eventually.
As for the poor standards, I noticed it’s actually starting to become a common practice, much like incomplete soundtracks. It’s getting on my nerves that I find myself having to arrange gamerips into complete albums for myself just because OST is either incomplete or a title completely lacks an OST. At least it’s not as bad as iTunes which is 224kbps DRM’d M4A.

They do that so they can sell you the "Better Edition" of the soundtrack hence Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition OST which has one bonus track "Ascension".

Don’t know if you noticed !!!!! but Final Fight is actually a rearrangement of the Final Confrontation track from LoS1. Quite fitting considering what Gabriel has become and the way you need to constantly switch between Light and Dark magic just like in the Satan fight in LoS.

Also JacKc, could you tell me what font did you use for your covers? It certainly is more fitting and I’d love to redo the cover I posted with said font.

Thanks. The LOS Ultimate OST just released is not so great. There are 2 or 3 songs repeated twice and the quality is far from the physical CD I bought with the collector on PS3. And there are many good tracks missing…You can check my playlist :

ok. yeah. The boss battle themes, we might say they still the "show" and run them down over and over again.

I actually did not like LOS music at all. But since I played Mirror of fate and got into get to know Oscar better through his compositions. I am going to give it a try again. 😉

The demo’s out already?

EDIT: So it came out with Mirrors of Fate HD. The music sounds real strange having digital effects and all. Ahhh the QTEs are back with a force!

You can turn the QTEs off in settings as well as change difficulty in the demo. In the full game QTEs will be disabled by default on Lord of Shadow and Prince of Darkness difficulties and you will be able to turn them off on the remaining 2 lower ones.
And yeah, it’s been out ever since MoF HD was released. I plan on releasing the music later today.

Thanks for sharing. LOS is a fabulous score, looking forward to listening to this one.

A shame that most of the cues (I’m guessing 90 %) are done with synths, I presume because of budget reasons. I don’t mind synths but some of the imitated instruments sound a bit too sampled, electronic. What’s more the compositions are not as thrilling or awe-inspiring as in the LOS score. It’s not all bad though and I do like the overall sound Araujo went for with this series (dark, gothic, brooding atmosphere).

LOS 2 had better blow me away (with live recordings of course). When is that coming out again?

I bought it too and even if it’s not as great as you say, I’m gonna hold on to my version of the score, about 2 hours 15 minutes long and I’m going to keep listening to that.

Supposedly, the Mirror of Fate OST will have the tracks recorded by actual orchestra. But yes, they used synth for the game due to budget reasons. MoF was a budget title done by Mercury’s B-Team while the A-Team works on LoS2.
I suggest you grab !!!!!’s complete score for LoS1, it’s fucking perfect.

Hope you’re right for the live orchestra, but MoF has very great atmospheric tunes like Theatre, clockwork, etc…

Yeah, that’s exactly what I thought.
Actually, I was specting the actual orchestra music to be in the HD version of the game, so I kinda got dissapointed with that.
Let’s wait and see what surprises the ost bring us!

I have been playing again my game in higher difficulty and, I was I looking on the soundtrack for the track that plays with the fist puzzle of Alucard (If I’m not wrong is the first) on the Theatre while Simon is fighting the puppets. SO I was looking for that track in this rip, and I could not find it… till I clicked he track I have not listen at all much. Staff Roll starts with that track I was looking for. xD
So, my question is really this one: That track is it on this rip in separate or not?

That’s largely due to incredibly generic,poor and stupid audio design that seems to pervade western developers.

That was the BIGGEST issues with the music in LOS1, the music is great. But the way the music is implemented by design is horrible, grating and downright doesn’t due justice to Castlevania or the quality of the compositions.

The game didn’t even have a proper Title screen song, it’s just Agharta’s theme reused.

And a lot of time you’d start out with one song, then battle music would crossfade in, then crossfade out and it’d be a totally different song than what was played before.

It’s so frustrating that the listening experience in game is so jarring. Listening to the music the way it’s presented in the OST is so much more enjoyable and should’ve been how it was in game.

They don’t seem to learn from some of their decisions so I doubt LOD2 will be no different.

And I thought I was the only one feeling like that about how the in game music was used. After listening Lords of shadow with more attention, I see that we have a lot of repeated tracks. and that thy were used in Mirror of Fate. No new version or anything like that. Just the same.

Well guys, the OST for Mirror of Fate is out.
While it’s inferior to the gamerip in terms of track coverage, it’s recorded by real orchestra (Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, same as LoS1 and LoS2), instead of being synthesized like the gamerip version.

I prefer to have this as really game rip. Since I have MoF arrange album in the folder collection of official stuff. Sounds weird to me to have it twice.
