No RIDDICK Original Soundtrack by Graeme Revell

its a shame to inform you guys that there will not be a Score Release for Riddick 2013 music by Graeme Revell

some one on the labels facebook asked if there would be one and this is the conversation

this is bad news indeed. Maybe VARESE can do it as part of their limited edition…

Well this is ridiculous news. It was going to be a blind buy for me! Hopefully some label will release it next year

Hmm, well that is awkward & disappointing. Methinks the movie studio is looking for a more lucrative deal with another label. I see a Varese release sometime in the future…..

I too was hoping there would be a release too – odd thing is, just seen the movie on DVD and the end credits state "soundtrack available on back lot music" but no sign of it happening, guess they changed their minds.

Really hoping for a soundtrack for this. I heard 70% was recycled music from the Chronicles of Riddick maybe that is why. Anyone also find it strange that over the end titles there was no music?

Yeah I find that almost unreal, this is the first time I saw that. The music was recycled but I liked it on the second viewing.

So it wasnt just for me the case.
I thought its some problem of the German Audio Stream of the German Riddick Blu Ray.
First time I saw credits without any music.
A shame that there isnt any Soundtrack release.
But most of the music is recycled anyway I think. Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick and Riddick have very similar Soundtrack. Especially the main theme of Riddick.
Only The Chronicles of Riddick got an official Soundtrack. Pitch Black hadnt any as well.
Great movie. Reminded me of Pitch Black.
I cant await the next Riddick movie but I think this will be again more like the Chronicles Of Riddick.
No problem for me though.

It’s pretty sad how poorly the OST got treated….I havent seen the film myself yet, but is the soundtrack really just 100% re-used tracks from older Riddick films and the game?

Either way, Pitch black did not receive an official release either, yet its available on sites like Youtube and FFShrine…..is it just a matter of time then before we see an unofficial release of the Riddick 2013 OST?

The game’s composer is not the same as the movies.. the Gustaf Grefberg soundtracks are equally amazing, yes, but by a completely different artist 😉

This is unfortunate that the new soundtrack won’t be released. Graeme Revell’s work is always worth listening to.

Diesel and Twohy made Riddick on a shoestring budget with very little studio support. Probably couldn’t afford to have an original score composed for the film.
