Of course, the music was excellent. What made the OSTs substandard was the fact that the official soundtracks that Blizzard put onto CDs contained between 11 and 20 pieces of music, while Doublehex’s rips contained over 100 for the base expansion packs as well as a number of others for each of their updates. They put the tiny collections provided by Blizzard to shame.
Not only did he organize the music in a beautiful manner, he went one step further and made his own cover art by editing the official artwork.
He sort of did for the WoW OSTs what the enigmatic ripper known as Prime Blue did to a number of Metroid OSTs as well as the well-known but heavily flawed Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess rip attempt that can still be found on our site’s Galbadia Hotel. But I digress:
Doublehex uploaded his rips to peejeeshare and so the story stands.
But as everyone on this site probably knows, peejeeshare no longer works, and Doublehex either can’t or won’t reupload his fantastic collections. Which is nothing short of a tragedy.
This is a message and a request to anyone on this site who successfully downloaded his rips before they went down. If you have them, you will be doing a great service to this site by uploading them so that they can be available to people once again. So please upload them to the site if you have them.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Update –> Saturday evening, all done, look down !
If it resurfaces I won’t let it fall into the nethervoid again, at least not for a while! God knows I don’t wanna sort through over 2200 individual mp3 files to try compile that shit myself, haha.
*Links and music (the fun stuff) provided by Starfleet
http://forums.ffshrine.org/customavatars/avatar56014_9.gif
A couple years back, a patient, creative, and clever user on this site called Doublehex (http://forums.ffshrine.org/members/doublehex-56014) made a bunch of phenomenally well-organized soundtrack rips of the World of Warcraft expansion packs. They were everything that the fans of the game and its music wanted from the substandard OSTs that Blizzard released.

Doublehex uploaded his rips to peejeeshare and so the story stands.
But as everyone on this site probably knows, peejeeshare no longer works, and Doublehex either can’t or won’t reupload his fantastic collections.
Thus, I have decided to re-post the files for all those who want them.
So, without any further interruptions, here are the links, restored to their former glory!

Well folks, I hope you enjoy! I leave you now with the eternally wise words of the Night-Elf Demon Hunter from Warcraft III’s multiplayer mode:
Darkness called…
But I was on the phone, so I missed him!
I tried to *69 Darkness, but his machine picked up;
I yelled: "Pick up the phone, Darkness!" …but he ignored me…
Darkness must have been screening his calls…
Until next time! This is Starfleet and Draconic signing out!
Though, it looks like Filefront has already slam-dunked your BC download link. lol
Cheers!
Okay files will be coming up here, Mediafire has a limit of 200 mb files so I’m splitting them up and uploading them in chronological order. Gonna be a while to upload it all.

EDIT 6:46 PM: Alright WoTLK is up. Had to take a short break in the middle of uploading because I was doing Challenge Modes, back in business now.
Update -> I change the link of gamefront to Mega. Hope it does the job and stay longer without problem.
Did the same for the 3 other complete version, add a alternative link !
Artwork for these releases are done. Also, I’ll be making artwork for Vanilla and it’s patches soon as well for those looking for a complete set of album covers.
EDIT: 5.4 added, sorry for the delay.

Awesome dude thanks a bunch!
You are awesome!
Should be soon a consolidated thread for World of Warcraft Music.
All goods things to those who waits !
Update -> Done, go to the original thread of Diablo 2 [Complete] , Your fate will be waiting there !
I am wondering now, with the notation "Complete" on scores like Lich King and Burning Crusade, if I missed something when I first downloaded them long ago. I only have the three I’ve mentioned here, and I can’t believe there are so many more! Doublehex is a forum treasure, as are those backing up the uploads (Mediafire being my preferred source – but those used above have been working extremely well).
Actually, most of these splits are confusing to me (like, 5.0 – Mists of Pandaria / 5.0 – Pandaria…are they different files?).
Thanks.

It’s the same file, only a different place where the file is uploaded (Gamefront or Mega). I should have said that is a alternative link in the first.
I wanted to create word’s game. But seem to fail, since you did ask the question !

Thank you. And thank you for the easy access to these fantastic scores. I praise Doublehex in virtually every other post, so this one is all yours.
But I have another question and I don’t feel this necessarily needs to be in a separate thread. If so, let me know. But, not having access to liner notes, I’m wondering if these scores are all done with orchestras or synths. I looked elsewhere for this answer and found a review for "The Burning Crusade" that said it was made with a real orchestra and choir. Is this the case for all of them? If not, which have which?
Thanks again for making these so easy to download.
Banzai,
It looks to be available on 4Shared from a user named MagnakuH. Here’s the link. (http://www.4shared.com/rar/eLLe7IWC/world_of_warcraft_ost.html) I DL’d it and it looks to be the standard score – I don’t believe there is anything more than what was originally released (i.e. nothing extra like Doublehex provides).
Hope that helps!
As far as I know, the patch between wotlk and cataclysm added about 30 minutes of music for the operation of the battle for Gnomeregan and the Echo Isles.

Could you link them from youtube or somewhere?
I assume this music is NOT included in the game rips?
3-1 Secrets of Ulduar
3-2 Call of the Crusade
3-3 Fall of the Lich King
If the music is not here maybe post the youtube links and we can see what we can do.
In your assemblies that music unfortunately no …

Just so you know the quote’s actually from the Dreadlord, not the demon hunter 🙂
Flawed? how? just curious.
It was missing a lot of tracks.
For instance, it only had part of the battle with Ook, a beep in the middle of the fight with Ganondorf, and none of the boss fight intro music is present. But there are a ton of other problems: Go look for Prime Blue’s rip. It never stays in the same place for long, but when you find it, you’ll see what I mean. And you’ll be thrilled, I guarantee it. Also check out ZREO’s Twilight Symphony. That’s also fabulous.

No, actually the Dreadlord says:
*cellphone ringing*
Darkness! What’s up?
The demon hunter left you a message?
No, I don’t have his number.
Incidentally, if you click on Death Knight-Arthas enough he’ll say:
Who is this, "Darkness," person anyway?
Doublehex never did 1.0+
Hey there! I can answer that. The first track is the intro cinematic cue, and the reason that is missing is because when I did the rip I did it from the beta client. As such, I did not have access to the cinematic cue. That release is probably from before I uploaded the cinematic track from the OST.
Thanks for re-sharing these collections of WoW music. Does anyone have the complete WoW soundtrack as well as the patch releases? Based on the numbering system it would likely be a 1.0, 1.7, 1.9. and 1.11??
Just as Ashadelo said, I did not do a rip of 1.0 or any of the patches lad within. The reason being I have no interest in 1.0, the OST serves my purposes, so I have no intent of ever doing a 1.0 rip.
Okay. Thanks for the quick response and the available rips. Really enjoying them :).
here you go,
enjoy!
I recognize the excellence of the posted materials before now, but I believe that the people here would very much appreciate my collation and organization of the music, which was done for maximum information and organizational simplicity. I’m still putting the finishing touches on it, but you can expect my own upload to take place here shortly.

awesome 😀 looking forward too it.
The Alternative link [MEGA] is still active !
I own all the OST’s and knew there were lots of missing tracks, including some of my favorite themes. I always thought about trying to learn how to extract those tracks from the game files but was always too lazy to do it.
I’m so blown away by the amount of effort to put together the COMPLETE OST. Again, absolutely amazing!
Thank you Starfleet, DraconicHart and Doublehex!
P.S. The 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 GameFront links are dead. However, the corresponding "Alternative Links" to MEGA still work.
P.P.S. Any chance anyone has 5.3 Escalation and 5.4 Siege of Orgrimmar?
Go to this Post (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/world-warcraft-music-patch-thread-91741/8.html#post2466203)
Wow, thank you! You’re like my soundtrack guardian angel 🙂
Iron_Ian and I are working on a be-all end-all system for keeping, sorting, and organizing the music for the game, now, and as long as the game keeps going. Hang tight and your wish shall be granted!
That sounds awesome! Can’t wait 🙂

Would anyone happen to have the 2.3 – The Gods of Zul’Aman they could reupload to a different site? I’ve been on Sharebeast for what feels like hours and the download is continually timing out and the site saying it’s ‘expired.’ :<
EDIT:
I have this and will upload it shortly.

WoW 2.3 – The Gods of Zul’Aman (https://www.mediafire.com/?87tnlzdb8p7n75b)
As noted above, a super happy gluten free thanks to Doublehex, DraconicHeart and Starfleet! I would not have this otherwise.
NOTE: If you have a problem, let me know. I can plop it onto my Dropbox instead.
"2.3 – The Gods of Zul’Aman" is now on MEGA for download.
I have a question: does anyone have the simple World of Warcraft Complete soundtrack? As in, just the 1.0 version of the game, as well as any content patches pre-Burning Crusade? I’ve searched here for a while and haven’t been able to find them, but I’d love to have a comprehensive version of the 1.x music to round out the awesome collection shared here.

I think this is what you are looking for. It has been a while since I DLed all these, but I got the original here: World of Warcraft OST (http://www.4shared.com/rar/eLLe7IWC/world_of_warcraft_ost.html).
I hope this helped.
It should be the official 30-track game soundtrack, released as CD and iTunes download, not ripped from the game. I checked Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Original-Soundtrack-Jason/dp/B003KWM7S8) against what I have and they both came to the same amount of time (no track list to match). Then I went to iTunes and it is exactly what I have (you can see the iTunes track listing here (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/world-warcraft-original-game/id288879642)). If the 4Shared download is NOT this same 30-track version, then let me know and I will upload it myself or you. But it should be, because it is where I got it.
I checked everything I have and the only WoW set I have without a subtitle (like, Wrath of the Witch King or The Burning Crusade) is what I noted previously. Well, at least the above explains what the 4Shared file is for others. Good luck.

Gotcha. I actually have this already, from my collector’s edition of the game. I’m looking for the complete gamerip version, similar to the complete versions of all the expansions found at the start of this thread.
I did find this though: WoW Game Rip (http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/2309) (from a 2007 post). No track titles though. PLUS: I don’t even know if these can be downloaded from here…it i kinda nutty looking.
Also;this is with all the Albums so far, when I put them on my mp3 player, they arrange in an alphabetical order, instead of a proper 1, 2, 3 order like they display in the folder.

Perhaps someone else will reply with more useful answers, but for now, this has been my experience – I believe there was some sort of discrepancy with the number of tracks/cues on my download of Mists of Pandaria as well, and I downloaded it a couple of years ago. I only have a vague recollection of whether or not I asked about it. But given the number of tracks, and my relative unfamiliarity with the game (not noticing if themes were missing), I know that if I did ask, I certainly never followed up.
As for the order – this may or may not apply to you – but I use iTunes version 10.7 (I dislike the format of the later version) with the Silent Night () custom skin.* Whenever I transfer files to my Android phone, my iPod Touch, or my relatively cheap MP3 players, they are always in the order that I left them on the playlist within my iTunes library. So, if I have them in alpha order in the iTunes playlist, they are in alpha order on the phone or iPod.
I use iSyncr to transfer iTunes files and playlists to my Android Phone, and of course an iPod simply autosyncs. The cheapish MP3 players are just file dumps into file folders within the MP3 players. I’m lucky to get any organization from them.
Regardless of what you use to view your music library, I would at least double-check to see if they are in a different order there versus the MP3 player. Granted, if you are transferring these music files without the use of playlists, then my example probably doesn’t apply/help.
It would be nice to know if/how you get this resolved. Good luck, Haseoxthexscion.
*The link takes you to a simple image sample of the skin (the only difference is that mine is in English and the sample is not – but you get the gist).

I have this and will upload it shortly.
