anyone playing this game on Bahamut Server? 🙂
FFXIV ARR will be my main focus though in a week or so (for that I’ll be on Ridill though – JP Legacy server).
I have my FFXIV ARR client ready though for this weekend (phase 4) and will be on Tonberry (JP) server.
Hence Abyssea, despite being intended for end game players, was abused by players who exploited oversights in the content to form leech parties where low level players would simply stand and let exp flow in through Dominion Operations (similar to Fields of Valor). Unfortunately, by the time Tanaka returned following his dismissal after the FFXIV debacle, the damage was done – it did bring in a lot of new players, but it did more harm than good – it virtually trivialized leveling overnight in that with a long enough Dom Op party you could basically go from level 30 to 99 virtually overnight (assuming you already have the limit break quests completed). Even worse is these parties encouraged RMT to actually advertise leeching in Abyssea for gil/real money, although SE has started clamping down on this, they haven’t abolished it completely though sadly, as it’s a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.
And that’s not including the ridiculously overpowered ‘Empyrean’ gear/weapons (AF3), and in particular, the Twilight gear as a drop from Abyssea’s final boss Shinryu, which has a permanent Auto-Reraise effect. If SE had placed restrictions on Abyssea’s access to over level 75s, restricted the availability of Dominion Operations, and maybe toned down the potency of some of the gear found in it, it would have been an interesting expansion set.
But as it stands… it utterly and completely broke FFXI. And most long-time players agree sadly. When even SE themselves admitted the whole thing was ‘a mistake’, then you know it’s broken. 🙁

I play on the Bahamut server with 2 characters. I have a 43 Whm/Blm and a Lv.18 Warrior at the moment. Just PM me your character name.
Should I at least try it? I mean, I play WoW, but I’m more into the FF universe.

No…. XIO is dead. Only diehard elitists exist there now. FFXIVARR is far superior to XIO in every way. The PS4 version will be released next month, and as the game is cross platform, and as long as you pick the same Data Center/World, you can play with friends who have the game on PS3 and PC.
Oh, godamn ellitists.. I’m gonna try FFXIV then, see what I might be missing.
I’ll be getting the windows version
And I’m sure that section will make great use of a FAQ. It sure will do for me. 😀
