Yaaaaay this is Gaaaaaaay in the best waaaaaaaay!

I mean this is great to see it coming from you Vegeta. Finally you have shared some real musics, something other than Donkey Kongo/Mario mumbo-jumbo stuff!

I’m a nostalgic guy … I’m mainly about classics. I never seen these types of games when I was growing up (I don’t think they sold them in america lol).

You mean the 3 games from this Vol1 Collection (ActRaiser, Misty Blue, Beyond Oasis)? While I don’t know about ActRaiser and Misty Blue, pretty sure Beyond Oasis had an all around global release. It came out under a name "The Story of Thor" in Europe, which is how I remember it playing it as a kid. I recall not wanting to give any RPGs a try because they all seemed too complex and time consuming for me at the time, but eventually I did, and Story of Thor was one of the first.
Only North American release had it as Beyond Oasis though.
But c’mon, how could you have missed it! A non-RPG gamer I suppose. :p

I wasn’t into many rpg’s back then. I think the only 2 rpg games I played was mario rpg, and earthbound (aka mother 2) lol. And honestly some RPG series just need to die off *COUGH* FF *COUGH*… 😀

As far as Mega Drive (genesis) games goes.. I didn’t have many. Just your basic Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, Streets of Rage (Bare Knuckle) 1 2 & 3, Dynamite Headdy, Ristar, Comix Zone, Balls 3D (lol), Mortal Kombat 1 2 3 .. & Ultimate. I think I had few 32X games.. like Virtua Fighter .. but I rarely played 32X. I can’t think of much more off the top of my head ( I know I am missing a few, but it’s been over 15 years since I seen my box of sega games (and yes I still own them lol) ).

Final Fantasy series has become something of what Lady Gaga is for the music industry, or Britney Spears before her. It’s pop-art/pop-culture. Every form of entertainment has their share of pop-art, whether it is a film industry, music, graphic novels, or video games. Something that strives to be to the liking of the masses is pop-art. FF is pop and there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just not the kind of game series I’m interested in.

And now for the Earthbound part – do you think it was intended? The Fetus thing in the background of the final boss battle?

I personally think it’s people’s over-analyzing things and see something that wasn’t meant to be there. But still cool trivia nonetheless.
