What all of that techno-sounding babbling double-speak amounts to is that it (technically) is true that this is not a true Surround recording, but is merely an excessively widened stereo recording.
At the same time, however, it should be pointed out that, if anybody is being dishonest/deceitful around here, it is Telarc – NOT mr_merrick, who is simply generously and genuinely sharing whatever Telarc released on their original SACD.
And it should also be mentioned that earlier today, junh1024 attempted to upbraid me (via PM) about my Surround Sound Tchaikovsky ballet uploads not being at the "usual" sample rate (I used 96 kHz for the ballet trilogy instead of the more efficient 88.2 kHz (horrors!), because the ballet trilogy was among my first SACD rips and I was still learning the ropes.), so it appears to me that junh1024 is simply trying to sabre-rattle about Surround Sound uploads, and appear as some sort of “expert” who can (unsuccessfully) attempt to initimidate those of us who are daring to upload in Surround Sound.
(As anybody can see with a quick glance at my list of started threads (http://forums.ffshrine.org/search.php?searchid=6703745), I have uploaded literally dozens of Surround Sound recordings here, so I think I know what I am doing, and junh1024 needs to start being concerned about coming up with Surround Sound uploads of his/her own and leave people alone like mr_merrick and myself who are simply trying to be generous to our fellow FF Shriners. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B6U4A_vYuii5MHpjRzlCUG5FNm8
PS Even though I own “Round Up” on my own, I would like to also express my thanks to mr_merrick for sharing it. People like you are what makes FF Shrine a (usually) nice place. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B6U4A_vYuii5VmY5QWtxQl9WZXM
(At least junh1024’s comments have caused this thread to be bumped back to the front of the line, so mr_merrick will get more publicity in the process. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B6U4A_vYuii5U0xGX1g0MUtRWFE )
My wording (in posts & PM) is very minimal & direct. As a result, it lacks nuance & I apologize if I come off as sounding rude (which was not my intent).
because the ballet trilogy was among my first SACD rips and I was still learning the ropes.),
And so it be, I took no notice of the date & was unaware of your process, hence that’s why I asked. I’m not a regular visitor of this subforum.
and appear as some sort of expert who can (unsuccessfully) attempt to initimidate those of us who are daring to upload in Surround Sound.
More surround is actually a good thing, and I like surround. My intent is not to intimidate. Rather, to point out bad releases.

Indeed. Thanks to everyone who has an intrest in surround (Bob & Merrick included).
