I’m not particularly interested in this music but gotta say that I had very negative experiences back when I experimented with Dolby Headphone, regardless which setting. It just didn’t sound real iirc. I’d also offer a standard LoRo downmix.
My MP3 upload is more of am experiment to see if people like it, especially after DTS started putting it into the mainstream with Man of Steel. The Deluxe Edition OST though is still technically complete, just in some cases not exact film mixes/ edits. And surround sound is a b***h to down convert as there are too many ways of doing it… (DH is one of them)
Don’t want to veer too off-topic, here’s a test DH mix of Zimmer’s Batman end credits suites – Thread 136166
And before people complain about the cover – tried to make it like TRON: Legacy…
Thanks for help ^^
Thanks for help ^^

But I need a way to convert it to play in iTunes and on my iPhone… I’m on a Mac btw
I tried using XLD to convert to lossless… and it didnt work… just a bunch of static

Ah cool. Thanks. Sounds good, although it drones out sometimes. The sound quality is amazing – thanks antovolk!
VLC has problems finding the total running time though. Can this track split into individual FLAC tracks? That’d be awesome!

how do you convert to flac???
really wish the 2GB version was in a user friendly playable format.. i love lossless… but only thing that can play .thd/.truehd is VLC… i want to be able to put this in iTunes & my iPhone
Not true. Use foobar or mux it into an mka container for playback with MPC..
Is it really only 16bit, I haven’t checked. It should be 24bit. 😉

explain… and i’m on a mac.. so foobar isnt an option
As stated, VLC works.
Also, MPC-HC (Media Player Classic – Home Cinema) works, but it relies on DirectShow filters (LAV/FFDShow/etc).
Foobar also has a plugin that supports TrueHD playback.

Mac… #_# no idea, mate.
Windows! :awsm:
Download and use eac3to. And, I guess, a GUI for those who don’t know/like CLI.
No extra codecs required.
eac3to can decode TrueHD with libav/ffmpeg libraries with bit-exact accuracy.

i do have access to a windows machine tomorrow… may have to try this
You may want to use eac3to with a GUI instead.
eac3to can decode TrueHD with its internal libav/ffmpeg libraries, no extra codecs (like ArcSoft for DTS-HD MA or Nero for the sketpics/ancients).
Why use eac3to?
I posted in the ISO thread about the bit depth and what eac3to found about it.
It’s actually 18 bit depth and not 24.
Taken from other post….
To all wondering about Oblivion and the bit depth:
I downloaded a full disc remux (1:1 copy).
I used eac3to to transcode the TrueHD to WAV.
eac3to reports:
eac3to v3.27
command line: eac3to "F:\JDownloads\Oblivion\BDMV\PLAYLIST\00800.mpls" 8: TrueHD.wav

Video track 2 contains 179395 frames.
eac3to processing took 23 minutes, 56 seconds.
Done.
So it’s actually 18 bits and not 24. Or even 20.
I know a lot of you are using Foobar with the DVD-Audio Watermark Protection detector plugin.
But that’s an experimental plugin. Development has stopped and no further progress or updates were made on the TrueHD decoding.
I suppose no one over at the HydrogenAudio forums invested too much time into testing it with TrueHD tracks? :itsamystery:
If Foobar is giving you 24 bit depth, it’s reading the container flag.
It is stored in a 24 bit container only to preserve anything higher than 16 bit depth.
HDCD works in the same fashion.
:doc: WAV size of decoded TrueHD is 12GB.
Converting to FLAC now to see final file size in FLAC.
eac3to uses -8 for compression size by default.
EDIT1: On a side note, it was nice to see there was no gaps or overlapping sequences.
eac3to is recommended for any conversion from the source because it can accurately detect any overlaps/gaps and correct it so it will be perfect. There are several discs I have that when I remux or convert, it reports overlaps/gaps and needs correction.
MakeMKV does the same when remuxing to MKV.
I’ve actually been seeing really poor download times too.
I wanted to download something from my own account and it’s taking forever!

Didn’t M83 do the song at the end of the movie, written specially for this movie with Joseph Trapanese. So that’s how they are citing original music, which is technically correct. You didn’t think they would go without that did you?

Thanks, I’m guessing this is downmixed from the 5.1?
OP updated!
Won’t be doing a split 5.1 FLAC encode since it’s too time-consuming and file-size wise you could just use the TrueHD.
I will SHOOT THEM IN THE FACE!
I don’t know.
They’re giving me a headache, honestly.
When other soundtracks get a one-hit track at the end specifically for the movie, I don’t really see them getting big advertisements like this.
M83 seems to take precedence over Anthony Gonzalez as a human being.
I get what he means in his article though.
I’d be super pissed.
It’s not like when Chemical Brothers did "original music" for Hanna which was the ENTIRE film and not a single track.
It’s just lame commercialism to get the children actively involved with "soundtracks".
Why not slap a Glee sticker on the poster and get it over with?
Converted to FLAC with eac3to, same file size as TrueHD…is this correct, Sparktank?
Yes. It’s the same size and not smaller because the frequency response is double than the standard Blu-ray definition of 48kHz.
That accounts for it being larger than usual FLAC conversions.
The FLAC versoin rbej34 posted should be very small due to it being 44.1kHz.
365.2 MB.
Downsized to 16 bit, stereo AND 44.1kHz.
No idea on the technical aspect.
Is the downmix a simple downmix or was something fancy like a custom mix or even Dolby Pro Logic applied?
How was the sampling redone? Quick and easy in a generic software program? SSRC? SoX, Foobar2000 and eac3to use SSRC as default, IIRC.
SSRC is the best free resampler, IIRC.
For paid you can use Wiese SaRaCon, Ableton? I can’t remember which paid ones gave the best results.
Also, if you go with the slowest settings, you get more accuracy and cleaner results.
You can check here for SRC comparisons (http://anonym.to/?http://src.infinitewave.ca/) for the cleanest conversions. That is, little to no sonic noise or other discrepancies.
You could try MPC-HC (Media Player Classic – Home Cinema).
Make sure you have good DirectShow filters installed and active.
LAV filters, FFDShow work well with TrueHD.
Use Codec Tweak Tool (http://anonym.to/?http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Codec-Tweak-Tool) to adjust DirectShow filters (under audio).
Also make sure you set your DirectShow filter to output to original 5.1 instead of downmixing to Stereo.
If you only have desktop speakers and no way of outputing (via HDMI or Fiber Optic/Coaxial Digital) to a surround receiver to achieve 5.1, then you should just let the filter downmix to stereo.
Feeding raw Elementary-Streams (E-S) is never really a great idea.
Not all software can really handle it so well.
Might play it but not properly.
Sometimes remuxing the audio to a Matroska container (in this case, since audio-only, *.MKA not *.MKV) will make players better play E-S.
MPC-HC with DS filters is always the best.
VLC is just too simple. If you want, you can go into the advanced options and google how to use them. I don’t know VLC.
TrueHD (*.thd) is a RAW file. An Elementary-Stream.
Most software cannot read the headers properly.
It needs to be in a container.
MKV is a container.
MKV can hold video+audio, which is why it "works with movies".
MKV movies have at least two E-S: 1 video+1 audio.
The video can be a raw MPEG file (*.m2v, etc) or AVC/H264 file (*.h264) or even WMV’s VC-1 format (*.vc1).
The audio can be Dolby Digital/TrueHD (*.ac3, *.thd, *.thd+ac3) or Dolby DTS (*.dts, *.dtshd, *.dtsma).
When an E-S muxed into a container (say Matroska: *.mkv/*.mka), it writes more info into the header of the container which is what most basic software looks for when playing.
Remux the TrueHD file into a Matroska container.
Use MKVToolnix 6.3.0-1 (http://anonym.to/?http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix) to remux the *.thd.
It will automatically give a file extension of *.mka.
This is normal because it’s audio-only.
Don’t worry about other options. You can set language to "English" if you like. Give it a name. The compression option in the third tab will automatically decide whether to use zlib compression or not. It decides 99% of the time to not use it by default. A rare circumstance (which you will never meet) causes it to use zlib compression.
Also make sure that FFDShow audio is set to decode TrueHD with libavcodec.
Once you remuxed to *.mka, then play it with MPC and it will play back. The media player will read the header info properly and begin playing properly.
Yes, probably best option is to set "Uncompressed" in FFDShow to "all available. This way it will playback the decoded audio as "uncompresed" as if it were a 5.1 PCM.
If still no surround sound output, then set downmix to "Dolby Pro Logic 1/2".
Then surround sound receiver will recover surround sound channels.
IF the music is even at all that dynamic.
(go ahead, tell me what a n00b i am 😉 )
I wouldn’t call you a noob.
But the studio yeah.
several points:
Why is it 5.1 and not 7.1 like the film? Was only the film mixed and designed for 7.1 and not the music?
Why is it double the frequency for music? Marketing scheme like TDKR?
Why are there only 18 valid bits instead of full 24? I bet the feature film gets full 24 valid bits.
Couple of minutes 🙂

Finally, here is the cover I’m using for this iso score… i edited the mondo cover:
M83 has a song on it tho… the end credits song, "Oblivion" is by them… thats why it says "Original Music by M83"

24 bit? Hasn’t it been confirmed (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/oblivion-2013-m83-complete-score-5-1-a-138112/#post2407395) that it’s 18bit?
It has… and that 96 kHz is just a lot of nothing. Since there isn’t any audio happening above 23 000 Hz. A 48 kHz like the regular blurays would have been enough. This is just twice the size but still the same quality
ಠ_ಠ
Seriously? I know that, i am just discussing for the cover titles, only a (suggestion), Good luck 🙂
Especially if you have problems playing the TrueHD, try the FLAC version 🙂
It will have to be tomorrow sometime… my home upload speed sucks lol
I request this too 😉
Shall I add this to my OP or do you want this to be its own separate thing?
Here’s the deal…
I bought Oblivion off iTunes July 23rd (early digital release), I will watch/listen to when the "source cues" are used and add them into the score as (best as I can) they are in the film
I will then upload it tomorrow… The score tracks will be in aiff and the source songs will most likely be in mp3
Shall I add this to my OP or do you want this to be its own separate thing?
Um… I guess add a placement for now… We don’t need this turning outline TDKR & Inception… Multiple threads for the same thing lol
And it’s better to do it here, since it originated from here
And the mondo cover will be used… Replacing "original motion picture soundtrack" to "complete motion picture soundtrack"
It’s still 18bit.
You can’t create 18bit files, they need to be stored in 24bit files with zero filling.
16bit = 1
17bit = 1
18bit = 1
19bit = 0
20bit = 0
21bit = 0
etc.
The decoded FLAC in foobar reads it as 24bit but won’t say what the valid_bits is.
UPD: and a poll, would be interesting to see which version of this people prefer. Would be best if we kept all complete/isolated score stuff in this thread.
I will then upload it tomorrow… The score tracks will be in aiff and the source songs will most likely be in mp3
Why AIFF?
It’s Apple’s equivalent to Microsofts WAV format. You can convert it to ALAC to save space..
You wouldn’t post WAV files, wouldn’t you?
I would like the source tracks in lossless. Are there any vinyl versions out of the tracks because in the movie they were played on a record player…
Slightly more compression than FLAC (not much, maybe 1%~5%???).

How many tracks is this version?
antovolk,
Want to add the one me and Foxtown worked on (for the poll; i like polls)? 17 tracks (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/isolated-scores-113650/18.html#post2407720).
antovolk,*
Also, you can request a mod to change the thread title to the "Mega Thread" title in the first post.
I created a ASK FOR THREAD TITLE CHANGES HERE! (Thread 125512).
Only 1. It says so in the OP : single-track .

i wouldnt post WAV files bc they arent exactly MAC compatible =P
i will see if i can find lossless versions of the songs… and i will convert everything to ALAC then…. but if i cant find lossless it will be mp3 for the source tracks
Can OP update my version to be ALAC + mp3?
ALAC is compatible for both MAC and Windows.
Slightly more compression than FLAC (not much, maybe 1%~5%???).[COLOR="Silver"]
i will do ALAC, since it’s compatible with both MAC & Windows… and iPods, iPhones, iPads… that way people can enjoy on any device 🙂
i can do that… will convert to aiff so no quality is lost… and will use that for my edit… i didnt see that one… i downloaded the 2.0… would like to have the 5.1 version
doesnt look like PS3 can (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/music/filetypes.html)
it can play AAC, so Apple Lossless will work since that is an aac file
Actually no.
AAC is a lossy format only.
ALAC is the lossless (or APE).
AAC and ALAC can both be stored inside an M4A container.
To playback lossless surround sound on PS3… I have no idea.
The FAQ on the Sony PS3 website (http://anonym.to/?http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/262/~/music-and-audio-formats-supported-by-the-ps3) indicates only WAV support (for file system).
1) I have no idea if that FAQ is updated/current.
2) I have no idea if the WMA option allows lossless WMA or just the lossy formats of WMA.
Converting to AAC would produce lossy 5.1 audio files.
Higher quality than AC3, given that, but still lossy.

i meant to say m4a lol.. but i dont think PS3 can play them
I know for sure it plays MP3 and MP4, and MP4 can contain 5.1 sound. But i’m pretty sure i read about Flac working streaming from a PC and it preserved the 5.1 and could be copied to the PS3 hard drive to play. I have to test it.
Actually, yeah. Streaming would be better.
5.1 in an MP4 container would only be lossy AAC.
There’s a few media servers from PC to PS3 where it will convert the 5.1 FLAC to 5.1 WAV.
PS3 Media Server 1.82.0 (http://anonym.to/?http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/)
Universal Media Server (http://anonym.to/?http://www.universalmediaserver.com/)
I’ve not used PS3MS for a long time. I don’t have a PS3, but my BDP is a Sony (Sony BD-P s3100). It likes UMS.
UMS requires AviSynth to be installed. If you don’t have it installed already, it will ask if you want it isntalled.
If it is installed already, the box will be unchecked.
I like UMS. UMS wins.
EDIT: there are other "Media Center/HTPC/PS3/360" servers but some of them are no longer updated/developed.
Take a look on VideoHelp.com/tools (http://anonym.to/?http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/htpc?orderby=Updated) for more to look at.
XMBC, anyone?
So I can’t edit the poll, can I…
As someone mentioned before, the track Earth 2077 is not in the film’s isolated score at all. But then again, the 15 second track 9 from the isolated is not on any official release. As you can see, there are quite some differences in track length in the comparison. The Deluxe running time in parenthesis is without the track Earth 2077 to give you a better comparison. Which means the official release is about 2 minutes 14 seconds longer than the isolated.
And for the record 😉 don’t call this "complete" because there are at least 101 definitions on what a complete score is. Call it an isolated score because that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. And an "isolated score" is the music as a separate audio track on the DVD/Bluray. It is NOT a rip of front or rear or both channels where someone has tried to isolate the score from the speech and SFX.
As for calling this complete or isolated – that’s why the "new" (asked the mods to change it) thread title is the "Complete/Isolated score megathread". Some people can call their releases differently, I’m calling mine complete (for me every track heard in the film with exact film versions = complete), you can call it isolated and so on.
for me every track heard in the film with exact film versions = complete
If i can get my hands on what’s in the film instead of the official releases, that’s what i prefer. For me, the music is so heavily connected to the film… anyway, just started splitting the tracks from the above tracklist in surround. Just for the fun of it 🙂 and for the opportunity to be able to listen to it on my HTPC connected to a surround system. I’m sure it will be an experience as i already can see mixing the different channels 🙂 The end result will be as follows:
Stereo: FLAC, 48 kHz, 24 bits (18), 405 MB
Surround (5.1): FLAC, 48 kHz, 24 bits (18), 2.4 GB
The converted FLAC 5.1 file (from the TrueHD stream) is 2,2GB, why do you think your version will be double the size? Can’t be, more less..
And for the record 😉 don’t call this "complete" because there are at least 101 definitions on what a complete score is. Call it an isolated score because that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. And an "isolated score" is the music as a separate audio track on the DVD/Bluray. this is EXACTLY what i did (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/oblivion-2013-m83-gonzalez-j-trapanese-complete-138112/3.html#post2408080) track 9 i called "Lake Dream"
Sorry 🙂 fortunate that someone’s awake. Those are of course wav-files and not the size of the FLACs. I made the tracklist too early in the morning and didn’t think of that i hadn’t converted the files yet… *feeling ashamed* 😛

Yes, i saw your tracklisting (no tracklengths). I just thought that it might be interesting for everyone to see the differences in running time. Sorry if i stepped on any toes… but then with tracklengths it wasn’t EXACTLY what you did, was it? 😉

Note: A few songs need the play counts reset when you import into iTunes, if you want an accurate play count… i forgot to reset them before i uploaded lol
Note: I have an aiff version that i used to convert to Apple loss.. i can try to upload it, but the ALAC gave me enough hassle.. and that was only 400MB…. the aiff zip is a little over 1GB

Wait, now I’m confused.
Your edit is lossy ALAC ?
Why haven’t you used the lossless source?
YES
I Am Sending You Away is definitely different.. There are others too

you should use my signature for your cover where it says "Oblivion"

Dumb/lazy question: For the new isolated BluRay version posted elsewhere, I have one ~2hr FLAC file (one track) and a supposed mp320 of "same" isolated BluRay (but the MP320 has multiple tracks). The MP320 isolated tracks total up to less than 2hrs. I haven’t had time to determine what’s missing from MP320 … or does the single FLAC have musicless segments of the film left in (lazy me, I haven’t gone thru that whole file yet ;)?

the isolated is over 2hrs because the total length of the film is that… but there isn’t score in every scene
Thx … I wonder if anyone posted a CUE sheet for that 2hr FLAC? That would help a bit … or maybe I need to get off my lazy butt and do it.

I just tried going to the site, but couldnt find a way to look for the cues.
BTW, heres a pic of the sheets for Aerial Battle, with a Slate! 4m50 v5-0 to be exact. So we have a slate number for at least one cue.

yea… JT posted this a while back… i tweeted him to ask what track it was on the OST before the OST came out and he said it was now called "Canyon Battle"

Yup unfortunately that slate is old news http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/oblivion-end-title-track-oblivion-m83-feat-130039/#post2312721
Why not tweet him again and ask if he can post the other tracks with slates? Or is that naive thinking from me ? Maybe he will do it?
LOL believe me, theeaglesfan has tweated JT about a gazillion times asking for the slates. And he’s been very good about responding, he doesn’t ignore people…except when he’s asked for the slates a gazillion times. I don’t twitter – that’s not how I roll. But if anyone else does, I suggest asking him. The worst thing he’ll do is not respond. No harm, no foul
Oh, I didn’t knew that 🙂 But I don’t use twitter, so I can’t tweet with him (or how’s that called?) 😉
Well I wouldn’t put it in quotes. In my spare time I drive downtown and film some stuff for small movie projects I like to make, and I also take some really nice still shots. So yes, I would call that photography. Not like the 3 dumb bitches I saw on the beach on Tuesday who took a picture of the ocean as I heard them say "Imma instagram this". A little piece of me died inside at that moment.
Okay, so don’t come down too hard on me, but I’m a real noob when it comes to "Isolated Scores." Do any of the links in the OP contain SFX and/or new material? Also, what exactly is an "isolated score?" Thanks, sorry for the "dumb" question.
1.) No SFX
2.) Not exactly "new material", just the film mixes of the cues
3.) An isolated score is the entire score as heard in the film. Basically, what we’re able to do here is rip the disc and have the complete film score in it’s entirety. It’s slightly different than the OST because these cues are the film mixes.
Did I explain everything correctly? If you still don’t understand, just be specific
"I love to take nice shots of my life moments with friends, family and my work team, now i can consider that a small movie project of mine… not instagram"
An isolated score is an extra on the DVD/Bluray where the music is a separate audio track that you can chose to listen to, just like when you chose different languages. It’s most often just the music but on occasion there might be SFX. These isolated scores might also be coupled with composer’s commentaries.
An isolated score is however NOT where someone has tried to remove the speech and/or SFX from either the front or rear channels of a multi channel track (as an example – 5.1 sound) and tried to "isolate the music" from the SFX/speech. That is one of the most common misconceptions…

I think both of our descriptions pretty much sum it up
It does 🙂 never saw your post before i answered

In this particular case, there are no SFX And if you take a look at my post here:
you will see the approximate differences

Yes, thank you guys for giving me thorough answers that weren’t condescending in the least. I appreciate that. And yes, that clears up everything for me. I, too, assumed the misconception that these were "isolated scores" where the SFX/dialogue was "isolated" out to present just the film music. But now this makes sense. Do most Blu-Rays have this feature?
Unfortunately not 🙁 I’ve been collecting DVDs an Blurays that have them for quite some years now and since i’m living in region 2 (for DVD) and B (for Bluray), it’s a whole lot more difficult to find them and buy them as this feature is more common in North American DVDs/Blurays (region 1/A). You can check the first post in my thread for a couple of links to sites that list DVDs/Blurays with isolated scores:
2m12v17-0 Pool Scene
4m30v5-0 Aerial Battle
4m30v5-1 Aerial Battle
6m42-43 (Couldn’t quite see the title from the angle/blurrines)
7m77v1-1 (Again couldn’t quite make out the title, but i know this is when: the TET is exploded
I’m having a buddy rip the bluray for me tomorrow (since his laptop has a bluray drive) and will be sure to get that special feature so i can screen cap and try to get as many slates as possible

Any chance you could upload the video itself too? Id love to see it!
its actually already on youtube (http://youtu.be/BvSA_Hryt54) from someone else
Oh didnt realize it. 😛
The only reliable way to get ahold of cue sheets is to find them leaked online, have a friend (of a friend [of a friend]) send you a copy, have someone at the label or studio send it, or just get damned lucky and find it posted online somewhere. They’re normally off limits and pretty well protected, since they contain more than just reel/number markers, titles, performers, and metadata.
EDIT: I’d just be grateful they cared enough about the film and the score to give us the isolated score in True-HD no less. 🙂
What do you guys mean when you say "slates"? I’m trying to translate to the proper film/music/editorial term.
I have this that I used for my editing:
0:00-1:23 jack’s dream

1:58:23-2:03:00 oblivion
2:03:00-2:04:25 end credits
I listened and to it myself to get the times
I was told there were no slates :/
These are slates:
2m12v17-0 Pool Scene
4m30v5-0 Aerial Battle
4m30v5-1 Aerial Battle
6m42-43
7m77v1-1
I’m probably not the most eligible person to explain, but a slate is used to note where in the film a cue is placed. The first number indicates what reel the cue is on (just like a film reel), the m indicates "cue" (I don’t know why it’s not a "c"), the number after is the number of the cue in the reel / heard in the film, and the v is what version of the cue was written, because many different versions of cues are written, which (I think) is where alternates come from.
So, "2m12 v17 Pool Scene" = reel 2, cue 12, version 17. "Pool Scene" is the official name for the OST track "StarWaves" and is (obviously) when Jack and Victoria swim in the pool at night
I’m sure there’s a better way to describe a slate as I’m no music editor / writer / composer, but that’s the best I can do. Hope this helps 😀
I’m madly in love with the drone SFX. And so I’ve wondered if it’d be possible to somehow isolate and extract them "cleanly" from the movie. Someone’s attempted an extraction, which fares pretty well, but there’s still either mix behind it or sharp cut-offs of sounds:
Oblivion Drone High Quality Sound Effects – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxCxLg33s2Q)
I’m audio-illiterate, but I’m guessing that it’d probably depend on the mix, and whether the sound effects are isolated on their own channel (meaning, I’m guessing it’s going to be impossible to get a clean lift).
Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?
I really need this!

While that is very interesting, I can understand it. I’ve been the same way about past scores. I’ve always wanted the sound of the "Transformers" logo from RotF mixed in with the cue "1m01 17,000 BC". Don’t ask why, I just like it. I also want the sound of the fountain of youth in the cue "9m48 v6 The Fountain of Youth" off the AWE complete score. Why it’s absent I don’t know, because that IS part of the fountain of youth’s theme. So like I said, I can see where you’re coming from.
BUT….Are you looking to have the drone SFX inserted into the proper cues, or do you just want them in hq just to have? I think it would be interesting to have them inserted. I am in no way capable of doing this, I was just curious what your plan is
FLAC / 2.0 / 44.1khz / 16-bit / 16 tracks / 390 MB

The sound effects are generally found in the center channel but also share with dialogue and some music.
but the effects can also span across the whole 5.1 surround sound spectrum.
Although, most of the music is heavily found in the other non-center channels so those will be useless.
I would avoid using the word "isolate", even though that is what you are doing, but for the sake of "isolated scores", it’s a bad idea to mix up two subtexts when everyone is still learning about "isolated scores".
I was actually going to work on editing the SFX for computer sounds.
But next month or so. I’m swamped in projects as it is.
Currently, two new PC’s to get in working order.
Transformers logo
I was going to rip sounds from the trilogy as well once I get my hands on ROTF. It’s the last movie I want to place my hands on.
It’s so grubby and filthy.
I used to use the first movie’s logo for Start Up sound, which was really awesome.
It’s so grubby and filthy.
I used to use the first movie’s logo for Start Up sound, which was really awesome.
I would actually like to do that, it sounds pretty cool. But I’d want SFX from any of the films and when I think about it, I don’t think (think being the keyword here, I’m not positive) there’s a single moment in the trilogy when a robot is heard transforming without music or some kind of dialogue / sound effect from the background
I observed a couple points, if memory is good, where the center channel yielded surprising results for a "clean"-ish edit.
though I’ll have to investigate it next month.
Back on topic, next month I’ll give Oblivion a quick watch again with just the center channel to see what happens.
Mid-next month.
._. what mix did you listen to?
It seems fine with my headphones.
What did you do?
I simply imported each track into Audition, tweaked the decibel level between 2-4 (4 for the tracks that didn’t have a lot of percussion, 2 for the tracks that did) and the end result was much louder sounding. I was happy with what I did
Not everyone has $300-$400 to buy audition
Well then I guess I lucked out when I bought my Mac with FCP X, Audition, Premiere, CS6, After Effects and nearly anything else you can think of.
For the poor who can’t afford Audition, there’s this free software called Audacity 🙂
It seems fine with my headphones.
What did you do?
I’m listening to Anotovolks mix (mp3 2.0)
There’s your issue mate! mp3 will never have all the frequencies of a lossless encoded audio. And it also matters what type of cans your listening through. If you have a set that only push the mid frequencies and non of the extreme lows and highs, audio is always going to sound distorted and muddy. With the conversion from lossless to mp3, pieces are going to get clipped…. parts are going to be brighter and less warm and natural. Just depends what your rockin.
the score blew me away!
and now there are so many choies to download, sweet
Oh hey! I forgot about this thread. lol.
Yeah, what Chief said.
Also, mind you with MP3, you have to be careful how you downmix from the 5.1 to 2.0.
Using the wrong coefficients will produce obscure results.
Foobar can do a simple downmix that is good enough for our portable listening purposes.
There is also the risk of what software is used and how it handles the SRC (Sample Rate Conversion).
Some will do SRC with poor quality software libraries and produce sonic noise and/or other sound anomalies.
eac3to uses SSRC (Simple Sample Rate Converter) and it does excellent results for free.
Foobar2000 uses the SOX library to resample and it does excellent results for free.
Other expensive, paid, commercial products will not always provide excellent results and will, in fact, produce garbage.
Check this site out and select two of your favorite audio programs to see how cleanly they do SRCs.

About this score, I really want to maintain the original untouched source, but split the tracks up as much as possible. I have all the audio tools too, however to split without cutting out parts of the music, would anybody happen to have cue pointers for this? would be great! 🙂

Thank you so much. My like button seems to be broken though, I’ll try to get back on that. 🙂
It’s the only version worth having, if you ask me. Good choice
Just going through an initial listen and the source tracks with Procol Haram and Led Zepellin are way too loud! My ears almost started bleeding 😉 I’ll probably delete those tracks.
Speaking of the volume, while understanding that this is a rip from the Blu-ray source, it needs to be normalized. Small quipples, indeed!
Definitely appreciate the work that everyone has done in ripping, cutting and tagging the tracks! Mad props to all.

The same thing happened with me, actually. I had to go into Audition and raise the decibel level on each track (except the source cues, of course – I lowered them)

I don’t have any versions that reflect identical track times as album versions.
The iTunes and CD albums are album enough.
I kept only the one that seems more fluid to the isolated score presentation, I believe a collaberation with foxtown.
Thank you so much.

It’s totally OK!! Please upload what you have!
I’m looking for

Same with the other thing, too.
As said before, I don’t have the versions you’re looking for.
I opted out of the retail album version and stuck with the film versions.

If links go down, I can re-up.
But I’ll downsize everything first: 16bit (since it’s not real 24 and >16 is not needed) and resample to 48kHz (since 96kHz is completely useless for listening only).
uh-oh… you’ll get your head chewed off for that 😛
Oh, everyone knows I’ll bite back. 😉
And with absolute technological grip.

I hope you’re not sharing my links, because that is my rip of the isolated score. I don’t mind it getting shared, i just wish people to do their own uploads of it in that case 🙂

They are not my rips, but they are also not your links (I uploaded to my own MEGA account; check if you don’t believe me). Like I’ve stated, it’s the original files (I found them on my hard drive recently and had them for 2 years or so). The pass is the exact same, so they’re most likely your files. lol I’m only secretive with my passwords because I don’t want my MEGA account suspended.
If you want me to get rid of the links, I can.
Any chance for a re-upload of the 5.1 48khz /24 bit Flac one ?
Please share it. Thanks in advance.

And as i said, i AM being polite here 🙂 and trying to inform you that you would get a whole lot bigger filesize but the exact same quality.
Just tell me the file name that includes isolated score. Is it this BDMV/STREAM/50377.m2ts?
I think it is.. Its about 2.1Gb. What software do you suggest me to use for ripping it out? And split it to tracks?
Extracting audio from an M2TS? EAC3TO ( http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Eac3to/How_to_Use )
Splitting? Any audio editing program. Adobe Audition is one (not free), Audacity is another (free)
I have this Audacity that you recommended. I will learn how to split it in to tracks. Do we have the exact timings?
I guess we do.

A far as I’m concerned, I’d be very grateful if you could upload the whole file. I am most impressed by the effort and dedication you put into this, and that’s an understatement !
Danke!
Oblivion Isolated Score. Its a direct rip from lossless TrueHD 18-Bit, 96kHz source to lossless flac without any degradation of quality at all. Its a 6ch audio, forgot to mention but you can figure it out, I said no degradation at all. 🙂
I am looking for a link to any of the 5.1 rips (preferably a single-track version), could somebody please share one?
Thanks in advance!
