Dragon’s Crown? I’m on the fence about buying the Official to it, once, it gets released, of course…
A Gamerip will definitely help me out as to whether or not to buy the OST or not.
MUCH would be appreciated if some kind hearted soul can help me out!!! 🙂

There’s a lot of interesting Themes going on for Dragon’s Crown. Reminds me of Vagrant Story, at times. I think it’s safe to say that Hitoshi Sakimoto has written ALL songs for this Game. 😀 Because it definitely sounds like it. And I think it’s also safe to say that Dragon’s Crown, although while having a personality of it’s own, sounds like a "Modernized" Vagrant Story. LOL 😉
That puts things in an interesting way. I’ve been waiting two years for Dragon’s Crown to be released so that I can listen to what it sounds like. Hopefully someone will pull through with getting it ripped. 😉

nope. I think most of the Basiscape crew as usual has assisted. it’s become normal in recent years for Sakimoto to only do the main theme.

and I doubt somebody will rip all the songs, since the OST will be coming out eventually. wouldn’t a gameplay video be enough for you to judge?

A game rip at the moment isn’t possible unfortunately. The game uses ADX2 (HCA) and the current decoder can’t read the files properly 🙁

interesting. alot of the newer games wont have (extracted) gamerips anytime soon because rippers haven’t caught up to modern encryption/decoders. I mean, vgmstream finally added at3 support last month, and at3 has been out for 8 years or so?

Well, it all depends on the format and who is willing to work on it.

One of the main reasons that this format hasn’t been worked on more extensively is because the CRI SDK 2 hasn’t seen a US release yet. If we had the SDK that comes with the HCA encoder, a decoder could have been made sooner.

Additionally, AT3 has been able to be decoded for a long time now though. VGMStream only added AT3 support recently because a beautiful person took the time to code it.

and really? i knew it could be decoded, but you needed outdated sony software and random codecs and blah. btw, vgmstream it still can’t play back every at3 file (it can only decode atrac3plus atm). are you on the foobar forums btw?

@LiquidAcid: interesting. well now that partial at3 support has finally been added to vgmstream, all these old ways of decoding it are not needed anymore :P. i still have to let kode54 know that apparently he can add support the other at3 filetype into vgmstream apparently.

and shyph, hmmm. perhaps it uses a modded version of ADX2? try asking that on the hcs64 forums.

actually, it would seem Sakimoto did do all (or most) of the songs.

Uhh, what a letdown 🙁

That’s nice for atrac plus, I have some of that stuff extracted from psp games, tried with foobar plugin of vgmstream on GTA: Vice City Stories, Riviera and Dissidia for starters and all played perfectly (.at3).
However, it doesn’t work on .oma files (I get those when demultiplexing psp videos in vgmtoolbox). That has a chance of being atrac plus also, will it not play because oma is encrypted aka has DRM?
