I ppreciate the effort, but we have like 50 threads dedicated to this album… Don’t make an expanded score or they’ll be all over the place soon. Wouldn’t it be better to wait until the dvd is out? Then you can include dvd material and not just released stuff.

Because….he doesn’t WANT to? Y’all were slap happy with each other for the Pirates and DK sets to be "fan made". Why should he just sit and wait for whenever y’all decide the time is right. All he wants to know basically is chronological order for the album, as best as can be. IF POSSIBLE, he’d like to know if tracks are suites, and if so where to cut them into appropriate tracks. I see nothing at all wrong with this question. Certainly it is as interesting as the 50,000 Inception discussions I have had to wade through daily….

And darth262’s done good work in the past on several projects, I don’t see why there’s opposition to him doing this. If you’re not interested in his project, you don’t have to click on the thread. It’s just one more topic you can scroll past. And yes, I know there’s several threads already, but they seem to have shuffled off into the background after Mr. Fate did his thing.

Eventually, all multiple threads and most mega threads do manage to sink away within a few weeks. There was never any fear of being run roghshod be men of steel. Dammit. 🙁

You’d be shocked, but back in the day NEARLY ALL(!) film scores that were blessed with a release did not feature the music as sequenced in the film, but were re-edited and even re-recorded (Henry Mancini, John Williams’s Star Wars, many Goldsmith scores, etc) to make for a more satisfying and musically logical presentation. Ok, that can’t be the reason in the case of Man of Steel, but still! 😉

You might wanna check your library then, as there a tons of fan edits out there. SonicAdventure’s "Deluxe Edition" edits count as well. Lady in the Water, King Kong, The Mummy, The Ring, Small Soldiers & TRON: Legacy are just some of the scores he’s worked on

Further, the "unofficial" leaks have all been edited to some degree before getting to us, so all the Dark Knight releases must now be removed from your library. As well as the ones mentioned above. So sad….

Since your project is in it’s "infancy" and is for all practical purposes a "work in progress" I think the request section world be a more appropriate location for this discussion.

The most talked about film score of the year!! (On the pages of FFshrine that is). I’m already constipated from the previous threads bearing the same topic but I do understand it’s also their right to do another one if they feel like it. Then by all means keep it up.

I wouldn’t mind hearing the released score in chronological film order. I really want to try to edit the end credits suite,too.

I am for this expanded, ive heard some nice Lois cues in the movie that I want to hear again

Chronological of the tracks as presented should be easy enough. I have a copy of a cam version of the film. Not great, but for chronological order it should work. As for breaking it up, I have no idea. SO much of it sounds so similar. There certainly is no way I could do it. It may have to wait for home release so folks can play it and compare. I am almost certain that is when we would have better luck and be more accurate.

Earth and This Is Madness aren’t really used, unless they’re used in the credits. The tragic part of Gen. Zod isn’t used, and This Is Clark Kent, some bits are used, but the percussion at the end isn’t.
The rest is in the sessions of course.

I am close to 100% positive that the End Credits suite/cue ends with the first 2:25 or so of "This Is Clark Kent".

So how is it going with this project?

Well is appears that so many people REALLY Hated this score that they are putting an amazing effort into reconstructing it! And Amanda who found the film & music so vile owns a rough copy of the movie.

Truly amazing. If someone was making a musical out of Schindler’s list I couldn’t be more astounded.

Truly amazing. If someone was making a musical out of Schindler’s list I couldn’t be more astounded.

What the? Just because I wanted to see the movie does NOT mean I liked the score. Going by that criteria, I’d dismiss every action movie of the last decade. :b

I watched the boot film once. Once. And, never bothered to go see the film. I had the opportunity to see it free, and could not be bothered.

Besides, I have always maintained I’d have to hear the score in film to make a final opinion. How can I do that if I do not see the film? I is confused. And, missed this post for a long time. But still. I’m wounded. **heads off to butt-hurt class.

ALSO, I did not say the film was vile. Just the score. Perculating all summer, it really is worse than that for me now. I really did not care for it. The Film itself is all right. I have a majore gripe or two about plot details, especially at the climax, but hey. It was watchable enough. Just put it on mute first. The dialogue adds nothing to the film. And the score actually takes away.
