If you are as excited as I was to come across this rare score, you’ll probably be just as disappointed as I was when I heard the damn thing. Though not identified as "Recording Sessions" anywhere, the dialog that accompanies some of the tracks, like "end slate" or "save it!", would indicate it to be something similar to that. Half the tracks are under a minute, the sound quality is not great, and it’s in mono. If that doesn’t bother you, then read on….
This bittersweet comedy from 1984 starred Steve Martin as a shy guy who, after a string of bad luck with women, goes on to write a bestseller about his lonely bachelorhood. MCA released a soundtrack on LP, but it had only 6 tracks: 4 vocals and 2 score tracks. One track ("No Number") is a pretty ballad for orchestra. The other ("The Wedding") is a peppy pop-electronic number that’s closer to what most of the other tracks are like. As a bonus I included those 2 tracks off the stereo LP. September 2018 UPDATE: Intrada has just released this score in pristine stereo sound. If you like what you hear here, be sure to look into the Intrada version.

I almost didn’t even post this, so I’m glad someone is happy I did.
Is there any link to an LP transfer of the official release? I would actually like to hear the songs on the original soundtrack too.
thanks
