EDIT: My bad, turns out it’s been pushed back to July 2nd. 🙁
They didn’t publicize the push back much.
Sometimes I feel alone in being a huge Hans Zimmer fan and appreciating the work he does on any film. :/
You’re absolutely not alone. It’s just that haters are always louder than lovers, especially on the internet. Hans Zimmer is universaly known and appreciated, and after watching a movie he’s scored, a lot of people are so amazed by his music they buy the CD. Just look at how much Man of Steel CDs he’s sold.
What bugs me is that some haters will angrily complain about Zimmer, but as soon as anyone mentions "Pirates Sessions", "Dark Knight Sessions" or "Inception Sessions" they get all giddy, even though those are the scores they were complaining about.
You must be young and probably not as well versed in regards to soundtracks older than 10-15 years old, listen to some of the Golden Age and early Silver Age composers then compare to what Zimmer and his collective House Of Composing is putting out these days.
I am well versed in Soundtracks older than 10-15 years old. I like Zimmer’s music. I have a different option to you and I enjoy Zimmer’s work on any movie. It doesn’t mean I have inferior taste to you, I just like Zimmer. You don’t like Zimmer, I do. It’s just opinions. I’m not a huge Jerry Goldsmith fan, but I don’t go around saying that his fans aren’t well versed in soundtracks. Sorry if this post sounds aggressive, but you can’t say I’m not well versed in soundtracks just because I like Hans Zimmer.
See my above post. It is not that Zimmer is bad, to us older folks. It is just that he is nowhere nearly as creative or technically proficient as earlier, classically trained composers. But, again, you like what you like, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I like Horner and Williams. I can give or take Jerry Goldsmith (depends on the film). I don’t think any composer is "old fashioned" just I don’t think any composer is "modern". I’m not saying that Zimmer is a musical genius and that all of his scores are brilliant (personally I feel Pirates 4 is very weak) but I enjoy most of his work.

Yeah, thanks for being reasonable about it.
Plus, there are samples. It looks cool.

It sounds like Sherlock Holmes with a hint of Pirates Of The Caribbean. Which is pretty cool.

It’s like a combo of Rango and Sherlock and a dash of Captain Jack 😉 …It’s got my approval 😉

There used to be more tracks, maybe that’s what’s going to be released on the official CD and not the digital downloads.
Listen to Finale lol
You know I think the same thing all the time. If it was on iTunes I’d have bought it and uploaded already. BUT….my account info would be visible, and I don’t want that. I know there’s a way to change all of that but it’s not worth it to me. Don’t worry, it will be here eventually. Official release is 2 days away!
Awesome? =)
