Dying to see this movie, even though (predictably) critics are being harsh on it (they love to see someone successful failing; and a lot of them are repeating like parrots: "Pixar has lost it’s edge"). Their only mistake was making movies for children (when they usually make movies for (and about) adults). Cars 2 and Brave are GREAT children’s movies (told from a kid’s point of view. People who found them "predictable" should think about this: an adult has gone over and over again over things that are new to children; so to them, they are obviously "predictable"). Finding Nemo is a Father-Son story, from the father’s point of view; Brave is a Mother-Daughter story from the daughter’s point of view. Cars 2 is told from Mater’s (a "big" kid) point of view. Anyway, hipsters love hating something popular.

Anyway, hipsters love hating something popular.

This is what people always say when they disagree with what the critics think — and it’s a total cop out. Take even an introductory college level course in film and you’ll very quickly realize that the only opinion these critics value is their own. And if theirs is the only important opinion, there’s absolutely no reason to go against the grain and hate on supposedly great movies. They analyzed these films as individual pieces of art and found them to be lacking. That really is all there is to it most of the time.

Personally, I’m hoping it the film starts in the past and isn’t some silly flashback sequence. I hate those. But I still think it’ll be a fun film.
