This recording is famous for engineering and performance — some of the best I’ve heard. Decca 70s stuff is very HQ. And LA Phil + Mehta were probably at their combined peak, too. For my box set version, there are several pics of Williams and Mehta together during the recording (late 1977). So, Williams collaborated personally on this Decca project.
