Back in 2002, while playing to the PS2 COS Game, I realised that I felt in love with the music… Since then, I’ve been looking for a release of the soundtracks… In vain, until EA released the Official Soundtracks of the first 6 HP games (including QWC) via iTunes in 2006… GRRREAT ! 😉 But… but… not all the music was included ! And as OOTP score contained "Hedwig’s Theme" cues that were not on the original soundtrack, I began to look for rips… Whitch I found after a long search through internet ^^ So, I made my own game scores, and constantly improved them…
The Sorcerer’s Stone score had unfinished cues, so I added some reverb at the end in order to make it feel better of course ! The PS1 and PC version contained different cues I tried to bring together, I hope I’ve done well ^^
The Chamber of Secrets score is the only one I managed to extract the .mus cues from the PS2 CD… And I had A LOT LOT LOT of work on it. As the tracks had a lot of separations (every 1 to 5 seconds), I had to cut the gaps using Audacity… it was really long ^^ But I finally managed to make a soundtrack which is quite complete I beleive !
The Prisoner of Azkaban (UPDATED) Now I managed to rip the music from the PS2 game, I’m able to present a more complete soundtrack of this third game ! There are great new orchestral cues !!!!!
The Goblet of Fire is a nice one, really epic… I don’t have a lot to say about it exept "Listen to it !" 😉
The Order of the Phoenix – (UPDATED) is the one I improved most… From the "Official Soundtrack", added to the "Promo Realease" and the rip, I ended with a great score with every cues containing "Hedwig’s Theme", and with a great sound ! Now check my new version, well improved thanks to the PSP rip ! Good sound and full cues !!
The Half-Blood Prince: This game sounds really odd to me… Tell me what you think ! I feel the sound aggresive, even on the quiet cues like "The Boathouse at Night"… But the cues from the game don’t sound like that, so I think this is the "Official Release" which is different…
I tried to add cues with "Hedwig’s Theme", but I think some are missing, and I can’t find them anywhere !
In The Deathly Hallows Part 1, it was hard to decide what to include in the soundtrack… As the score was built in layers (sound effects, percussions, strings, brass & woodwins, choir), there were different versions of cues… So I tried to make a thing that is not boring but still showing a bit of everything…
Finally, The Deathly Hallows Part 2 score was easy to put in my "soundtrack release" thanks to the raw PC rip and the availability to listen to the music alone in the game with a bonus section dedicated to the music in the game.
Overall, I tried to make enjoyable score to listen to, not boring nor with a bad sound… Hope you like the quality of them (I do ! :p )… and that my "little" speech is clear !
Thanks a lot for reading and enjoying this set of the Complete Harry Potter Game Soundtracks !

Enjoy !!
But I recently added some cues… So I will make an update soon ! 🙂
Personally, I prefer Hannigans work, but the scores by Soule aren’t bad either. 😉
For me James Hannigan followed the spirit, that John Williams created for the first movies, much better than anyone else in the franchise. Including Alexandre Desplat or Nicholas Hooper.
But that’s just my opinion.

HP8: https://rapidshare.com/files/4129279780/Paris%208.rar
Enjoy 😉
It contains some rare cues… It was available for listening on MyAPM music but no longer for some years now…
Thanks ! 🙂
And here’s an article about the sound and music of the Chamber of Secrets video game: Electronic Arts (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec02/articles/electronicarts.asp)
Cheers,
Abbey

Where’s the music from the second game when you’re doing the Floo Powder slide level? Can’t seem to find it. I am referring to the PS1 version of the game.
No need to ask for FLAC version, it won’t improve the quality as the original format wasn’t a loossless one… ^^
And by the way, if anyone has the PSP rip of the Half-Blood Prince, I would be grateful 🙂 (I made the HP5 rip so good thanks to the PSP rip…)

It includes 154 music cues (OGG 128 kbps VBR) and hundreds of SFX and dialogue lines (WAV) [about 3,900 files]. All untouched.
The tool I use can for HBP, but not for OotP for some reason.
Concerning the tools I used… I actually cannot remember anything 🙁 It was a nightmare to have everything right and once i got what i wanted I deleted the apps I was using…
But I did use Awave Studio, among others…
For COS, I simply used Audacity 😀 I also managed to rip GOF, OOTF and HBP…
For others, I used existing rips and added my personal touch ^^
Also, I am updating the links.. Perhaps with some new cues 🙂

By the way.. Do some of you have the music from the opening sequence of COS (PS2 version…), it is performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, not just a mock-up…
I’m trying to compile the scores to the first three games in the highest quality available, and OoTP reuses some of them…
I’m trying to compile the scores to the first three games in the highest quality available, and OoTP reuses some of them…
Perhaps in my old PC… Not sure of that :/
Ah it could be nice 🙂 With some cues that are still missing perhaps !? ^^
I’m using material from all the gamerips I can get my hands on to make the most complete soundtracks. With all the different bitrates and sample rates of various platforms, it can be challenging to make sure that I’m using the best possible source…

I have the gamerip for that system, you can download it here (http://psf2.joshw.info/h/). The audio is split up into lots if small ASF files that run only a few seconds each. All combined they form full tracks.
What’s interesting is that is seems that some files are seemingly missing… if you take the time to convert them to WAV files (I can show you how to do that) and put them together in Audacity, you’ll notice that it sounds like there are multi-second gaps where is seems music has been skipped. It’s hard to explain without showing you, but… long story short, the main title music suffers from this issue.

Thanks! I’ve got the files, but I don’t know how to convert the cues from HP1… 🙁 Could you please help?
Maybe Jessie still has it.
You’ve got the OotP files? What format are they?

Just found this old post of mine. I made a better rip of this track, it’s actually first played in Philosopher Stone (PS1 version) in the Magical Menagerie.
