Note: this was ripped from the combo DVD/CD released by Artisan in 2001. I’m not normally a fan of Carter Burwell but I dig this score. I love this score’s creative use of organic nature and industrial sounds combined with (what can basically be summed up as) orchestral sound effects not to mention I was one of those fool youths that actually bought into the Blair Witch mythos once upon a time. What a fun ride that was to find out it was all a clever marketing scheme. This score (along with the accompanying film) is a rather unsettling experience but one you will find yourself submerged in for the 40 minute running time as you take a trip down nostalgia lane in a time when movie audiences were gullible and beginning to realize it therefore changing cinema forever to the overly intelligent (not to mention self-aware and pretentious) snoozefests out these days. Rock Water Wind, Red Snow, Barely, Shadow Dance and The Truth? are among some of my favorite cues from this album and I hope you enjoy it too!
Thanks for the score.
They were inspired by the marketing schemes from Cannibal Holocaust (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078935/faq#.2.1.16), IIRC.

Ahh, yes. Cannibal Holocaust. Dreadful film, lovely score. Can’t get over track 3 (Cameramen’s Recreation) on that album; it sounds straight up like 70’s porn music. I get a good chuckle each time I hear it.
