I’ve got the original vinyl album somewhere up in the loft, but it was played so often back in the 80s by a much younger me that I suspect it wouldn’t be worth doing anything with now. I wish there had been a proper OST album too; the one they released is great fun, but it’s more of a concept piece than a clean OST.

And thanks to this thread I got to thinking about the film again, and idly searching I found that it’s recently been rereleased on BluRay, remastered properly in 1.85:1. Amazon is now sending it my way, can’t wait!

And that OST will really be the icing on the cake at some point too.

In case anyone else is interested, I got the BluRay of this film and it’s a surprisingly nice crisp video transfer (and in the correct ratio) but the audio is still pretty poor. It’s basic stereo (not even Dolby Surround) and rather muddy in places. But I guess without a complete remix it’s the best we can expect. Less extras than even the DVD release (just a trailer).

Any luck with finding those old vinyl-sourced OST tracks over there in Monstropolis, James ? 🙂
