Why can’t Horner fans just accept the obvious? Speaking of obvious …
How miserable…
Well Im sure that this post was because a special reason……probally he (Phideas1) does it like garage?
2) Legends of the Fall (his masterpiece) contains the theme from TITANIC (track seven/ at 2:16) which I find a hoot!
3) Horner replaced Yared on the film Troy and then lambasted the composer for his inability to score a film- which is not only rude, but ironic.
4) Horner is a good composer but it seems mostly his early work is unsullied by his oblivious plagiarism.
5) Studios don’t care who scores a film. But they will blame the composer if the film is in trouble.
6) I posted this because I thought folks would like the score in FLAC.
7) Now, all of you hush. I’m busy trying to figure out how to fornicate with my self. Sure could use some instructions from IKEA. (insert tab A into slot B, use a Phillips head screw driver and a small hammer…. small?)
2) Legends of the Fall (his masterpiece) contains the theme from TITANIC (track seven/ at 2:16) which I find a hoot!
Legends came out BEFORE Titanic… your entire post is invalid.
Also: Amanda was nice enough to share a legitimate COMPLETE version of the score, just last night. Nice job. You win Most Pointless Thread of the Week.
Yes, Legends came out before Titanic- and he lifted a tune from Legends for the Titanic theme (thus my post is remarkably valid)
And I started out the post the way I did because I was amused by all the Horner scores I heard within it- and thought others might be amused enough as well- and possibly start a no-prize contest of his scores that are contained. And I am asking you to hush because I am REALLY busy working on this biological project. Silly Rabbit!
Phideas, give up. Like IKEA, fucking is AT LEAST a two person job, maybe more. Invite some friends, order a pizza and beer, try again. 🙂

For my fellow Horner fans….this is nothing new. This point of view is very prevalent and expressed all the time. Why fuss? Just enjoy what you like, and don’t stress whether anyone else does. Geeze.
This gets more and more complicated!
(gonna check the IKEA web site…. maybe they have some instructions) 😉
My friend i don`t agree with you there are bunch of bad composers working today in Hollywood, is Horner one of them ?
The answer is NO, but he has become very LAZY is true nowadays all his scores sounds the same and unfortunately all his scores since Legends are bad as the Flu !
Most of the people who bash Horner are old farts who have forgot how to enjoy a score, and call generic every of them, because they can’t recognize styles or sounds of it’s own. And they’re hypocrites, because they’re the same people who whine about lack of themes, and they complain with Horner reusing themes, which he can do anything he wants because he wrote them.
I couldn’t give a rat’s ass if Horner’s recent score has a string bar used 30 years ago, if it works, it works. Horner is one of these composers who gives a colour, or a theme, to a certain moment in every film. Notice how in Amazing Spider-man, The Ganali Device has a singular moment ala Beautiful Mind, it’s how Horner represents science. The danger motif, it’s that, a motif to represent danger.
But that doesn’t mean you are not perfectly welcome to enjoy what ever music that you enjoy.
Sincerely,
An Old Fart
From Wikipedia:
Critical debate
Horner, like many other film composers, has been criticised for transposing hooks, orchestral motifs, or larger passages from other scores of his own or of other composers. These contentions are points of fierce debates between his supporters and his detractors.
Throw away your post-Titanic Horner scores and start collecting his old classics then perhaps you will appreciate him a little more.
Actually, his early scores are riddled with rip-offs of classical music, like Battle Beyond the Stars, Humanoids from the Deep, Wolfen, etc. It’s mostly Britten, Prokofiev and Ives.

There is NO SUCH THING as a legitimate COMPLETE version of any score, unless released as such. They are based on STOLEN material which was never intended so see the light of day.
any chance someone still has this and could re-up please?!? 🙂
