Been through hundreds of pictures, usually trying to get the two together.
Then I saw this… on Ebay with a bid and Buy It Now.
Greatest condition that I ever saw! Waited to bid and win at the end and someone else grabbed the Buy It Now a few hours after looking. NO… how long until another great condition one I do not know.
These games are great and special. Already got the gray cartridge ones. I think there will be a version difference between the gold/gray. Playing the first Zelda… Game Over hundreds of times, harder with 4-way movement, slowly made it up to the end of Level 4. Cool!
There is no difference between the gray and gold cartridges though other than the fact that the gold one is gold, and it’s the first version of the game that was released, and the gray one is the re-released version. There was a lot of gold cartridges made for these games, so I’m sure another one in good condition would pop-up sometime.
There are some gold ones on Amazon in "excellent" conditon for around $20.
anyway, over here, wherever theres a place selling old games, theres ALWAYS a gold zelda 1 cart.
in fact, gray carts are rarer than gold ones, since the gray ones were the last batch to be released, hence they made fewer of them.
*hugs CIB zelda 2 cart*
She started working there a few months ago so she gets to see everything that comes in.
so far, mario bros, kid icarus, ghosts n goblins, contra and ghostbusters have circle seals. the rest of my games are in their boxes and im too lazy to reach them (top of the taller-than-me shelf.
from what i can gather, circle seals AND 3 screws (on the back) means they are the very first run of the cart.
3 screws, seal being circle or oval, means they are the first batch of that game too
