Painfully slow loading times…

Are the servers being under lots of stress? If not, what’s causing it? It feels like sitting on dial-up.

Same for me since the forum udpates.
I complained in the thread but someone bitched at me and ruined my complaint.

Canada, Shaw, Cable, 25mbps/2mbps, Google Chrome (updated).

It makes no difference if I enable/disable any plugins or extensions.
It also makes no difference if I use the "Predict network actions to improve page load performance".
It also makes no difference if I clean the cache, junk files, defrag, reset the winsock/catalogue/ip/etc in my network settings.
It also makes no difference if I disable all the pictures or anything in the forum settings.
It also makes no difference if I already loaded the page(s) and its assets.
It also makes no difference if there are no pictures on the page(s).

My internet is tweaked for performance. No crap.

Yeah, I get 31/11 from my connection and I tested that just before making the thread. I’m from Sweden, btw.

I know it’s not my browser since other sites load quickly. And I use quite an outdated version of Firefox (reason for that is not relevant to the thread).

server load is fine, not sure what else could cause this but looking into it

No issues with loading here. The forums are nice and fast for me.

It could either be you or it could have been something temporary with the server, which is normal. We experience it sometimes over at KH-MediaFlare.

No, for me, the forum never has any good days. Not since it updated.

I’ve switched to OpenDNS. Nothing. Is this forum like discriminating against non-Americans?

Hmm. Haven’t been here for some time but it seems to be fine now. I had to set up a router (bought it many months ago but haven’t had to use it until recently) didn’t set it up until recently for reasons not relevant to the thread. Maybe I even had it set up when I posted the thread. Either way, it seems to be fine now.

Maybe it was some station along the way. Doesn’t explain why others might have issues, though.

Yeah the loading is a bit slow, server errors im guessing.

‘Tis spiffy and fast for me, faster than most others sites actually. It’s all in Sparky’s head, his math is likely off. He needs to learn more techy stuff, and use his equipment to it’s fullest. :awsm:

It’s been my experience that the servers are not slow here just some of the people.

There were never problems to begin with. You just have crappy Internet.

I haven’t had a problem with the site either. Loads up pretty fast. I have TWC 30/5. I know that some ISP’s will throttle your internet speed on some sites. You could have the fastest internet speed in the world but if the ISP throttles the site, it will seem like dial up or DSL.
