Most I’ve spent on a new game is The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask at $150. The main reason I spent so much on a new factory sealed copy, is because I really wanted to have the original box with it, so I can display it on my shelf, (which I’m doing now) and since it’s one of my favorite games ever, and I didn’t like how the Gamecube version wasn’t properly emulated.
Most on a used game is Metroid Prime Trilogy at $70. This was one of those impulse buys where I thought, "If I don’t buy this now, I will never see it again." So I bought it. I usually go the the media and game stores twice a week, and I have never seen it since. This was also way before I knew about Amazon, so I don’t know if it’s cheaper there, but I already have it so…
Most I’ve paid for a new system is the Wii U at $350. I bought it the 1st day it came out. I didn’t camp out or anything, I just called Gamestop, and Walmart which had 2 deluxe ones left, so I went there and got it. I got the deluxe one since it game with Nintendo Land (which is $60 by itself) and a bunch of accessories and more memory than the white one and it doesn’t come with the game and some of the accessories and was $300. So I thought the deluxe was a good deal.
I have actually never bought a used system before. I’m surprised I haven’t, since I usually buy used games. Unless it’s one that I really want of course, then I can’t wait for a used copy.
EDIT: If you’re a PC gamer, PCs can count too. Me personally, am not counting mine since I’m not much of a PC gamer.
Also purchased my N3DS around launch at $249.99.
And the most expensive game I’ve paid for was Last Window: The Secret of Cape West which cost $47.50 new. It was an import from the UK as it’s not available in the US. Purchased it soon after it was released. Of course now you can get it for around $15. It was so worth it though.
System: My PC lol
And there are a ton of PCs out there… prices please. 😛
I actually didn’t buy any games with my N3DS. My DS had seen better days and I still had a few titles which required the L and R buttons so I purchased it so I could play those games till something good came out for the handheld.
the most expensive system I have bought was probably a ps2 for 85 dollars, CIB
game: cod mw3 hardened edition, 100 USD
Game: $60 for the MGS: HD Collection on release day.
The most expensive game I bought was Ibara for the Playstation 2. Bought it used for $130.
Most expensive NEW game I bought…well prepaid for, is Watch Dogs Ded Sec Edition (EB Games exclusive ) and that’s $148.00 AUSD. The most expensive SECONDHAND game I bought was the US Version of Final Fantasy III (actually Final Fantasy VI) for $160.00 AUSD… and the reason for that you can ask Enkidoh… >.<
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition, EUR, PS3 (it was about 110 euros)
MOTHER3 – Deluxe Box, JPN, GBA (it was nearly 200 euros.. because of that special GBA it had)
used game:
Dragon Warrior VII, NTSC-U, PSX (around 80e)
Gensou Suikoden II, PAL-E, PSX (around 80e)
Rule of Rose, PAL-F/E, PS2 (around 80e)

new system:
Wii U, EUR (around 300e)
old system:
Nintendou Super Famicom, NTSC-J (around 80e)
O_o my monies…
Most on a System would probably $200 for the Gamecube.
Just recently bought Tales of Xillia Limited Edition for the PS3 $59.99 at my local game store. I was thinking that was worth buying it, over the standard version, I guess I was lucky that sells the few copies over there. Same goes for Deus Ex: Human Revolution back in 2011 at Gamestop. Also, I bought Final Fantasy 13 (PS3) (Pre-owned) in 2010, I think for $54.99 is my second expensive purchase from Gamestop as well.
But yeah, I don’t go in for special editions or any of that business and I usually always wait for consoles to drop a bit in price too. Takes a lot to part me from my cash!
Games: Any games I preordered or bought at launch for $59.99 (eh I’m gonna throw in my cheapest new limited editions [from preorders] – Final Fantasy X/X-2 remake/Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX $39.99)
Games Used: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – 30 something dollars with powerup rewards card
System (New): Xbox 360 Slim (the black one after my old fat white 20GB one died to RROD) Estimated cost $199-$249
Peripheral: Kinect – $149.99
Didn’t buy a 3DS until this week, and I paid about 1万9000円 for it – not too bad compared to what it cost during release.
Might purchase a PS4 when it comes, though.. so there’s that.

you are a wise person
With adjusted inflation, that’s over $1000 in today’s value.
Shit is so expansive.
PS2 and 3DS second place at $200.
I bought a laptop for $1000 but that doesn’t count because it wasn’t for gaming.
Most expensive game I bought was Disgaea D2 collector’s edition at $85. This is the only collector’s edition I’ve ever bought.
Most expensive regular games: Skyrim Legendary Edition and Grand Theft Auto V at $60.
Most expensive used game: Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube at $45.
most spent on a game was $80 for the import of Heartgold
I also got Brave Fencer Musashi at $40. Not as much as ToS, but it’s pretty close.
I really want to play the game Rule of Rose for the PS2, but it’s $100 USED. Gahh…
The First Gen PS3 sold here in Australia for around $1k… The PS4 is nowhere near as expensive…
most on console is my ps3 at 299….thats about it 🙂
I remember the launch price was $599 I think, which is crazy for a game console, but at the time, it was a steal compared to normal blu-ray players.
