In look for beautiful Japanese Orchestrated Music

I love Japenese orchestrated music. Only since im such inexperienced in the music as in.. i don’t know a lot more than the music of Joe Hisiashi, Nobuo Uematsu and Yoshiki’s orchestrated work. I hope you guys could recommend me some 🙂

The kind of music i like is best described as: storytelling, fantasy/fairytale, emotion, field theme’s, march. Some even describe the music that i like as themepark music.

Most game music i already know. But i’m new to anime and movie music. And even (dedicated) contemporary classical music.

Seeing as you mentioned Uematsu, you might like to try looking for some of Shiro Hamaguchi’s works, as he often closely works with Uematsu and did a lot of orchestral arrangements of Uematsu’s FF stuff.

In particular, may I suggest the Ah! My Goddess ~ The Movie OST? Uematsu wrote three J-pop songs for the film but the rest of the beautiful orchestral score was composed by Hamaguchi – it’s one of my favourite anime soundtracks (but then that helps that I’m an Ah! My Goddess fan :p).

Pretty much every song on the Okami OST. The piano arrange album is good too. IF you don’t know already… also this isn’t from a video game or movie, but I like it.

I’ve downloaded the Okami OST in the past, but deleted it later on. But when i relisten to it now on youtube, (it’s been a while since i listen id) i’m rediscovering it. I gonna give it a second chance, thanks!

I also like the instrumental version of Sakura Sakura. With the vocals it’s to japanese for me. And even though i like the sound of that upbeats song, it’s maybe a little bit to upbeat for me. But thanks!

I know what you mean about the vocals. I’m normally not a fan of vocals myself but I like Japanese vocals. I’m glad you liked at least 1 of the songs I mentioned. :p
