Defiance (Itunes/Amazon) 24-track Soundtrack….

Here is the Amazon/Itunes 24-track soundtrack. i figured it was time for me to give back…and no one was getting to this fast enough…lol. this is the first time i have ever posted on here i hope this works. i downloaded this from Amazon. format is MP3, which is the only format Amazon downloads in. if anyone wants to convert it and put it up in flac by all means go right ahead, i don’t mind. i don’t know how to convert this into flac or if it will make a difference with dbpoweramp or soundtaxi which i use to convert from flac to mp3/wma Enjoy! 8-D

@Boss Lady…yeah i put that in there for the people who prefer to have flac for everything. all amazon Downloads in is mp3. this version of the OST has 4 or 5 songs that are not in the ultimate edition soundtrack whereas the ultimate has two tracks that are not on this one. so the best thing i can say to do is get the flac version, convert it, then take the two bonus songs and rename/renumber them into this one and there you go. either way if someone wants to do it, they are more than welcome to…i just wanted to share this with everyone. 8-D

I perfectly get what you mean, I’m just pointing out that doing that means you’ll be transcoding from lossy to lossless, which doesn’t net anything.

But I digress, who am I to preach about lossless when I’m not even a audiophile myself. Thanks for the share. 🙂

Regarding the flac suggestion: What amazon offers (mp3) is not as good a format as flac, it’s lossy, the sound is inferior to flac. Converting it into flac won’t result in a better quality. Only the opposite is possible: Reducing flac to a lesser quality, which some people like because the files are smaller. Personally, I always prefer flac (or, if available, a CD). So it’s all the better that Bear McCreary is planning more publications on CD, including this soundtrack. Until then, it’s great to have this as a download.

well…good to know. lol. thank you both for explaining that to me, i am now glad i didn’t try to put it into flac then. i am just glad i can give back. normally i look for stuff in flac then convert it, but i have never converted to flac and for the reasons you guys just posted. the main thing is the album is up and i hope everyone gets a chance to DL it. i can’t wait for the 2-cd to be released. but that will prolly be a while. 8-D
