David Hayter replaced as US VA for Snake in MGS5

Part of me is still waiting for Kojima and Hayter to post an image of them together and inform us that this is all just an elaborate April Fool’s gag XD

Why won’t the fans consider that maybe, just maybe, is Hayter which wants a change… He’s been the voice of Snake for years, maybe he’d welcome a break from it. Personally, I’d like to see him depart from the series, I view him as the voice of "Solid Snake", and that character’s story ended with Guns of the Patriots.

Move on… and if a new guy gets in, give him a chance. I don’t see this crap turn up every time the VAs are changed in a saga like Resident Evil.

The reason he isn’t, though, is because Hideo Kojima is trying to recreate the MGS series, which is being reflected in the voice actors. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu_GwC2hyFU#t=5m17s)

So these David Hayter fans really just need to give up. If his Snake voice doesn’t complement the new game, then it makes sense to replace him. Back in the day, when he 1st voiced Snake in MGS1, the English voices were chosen by the localization team to fit the market. Now Hideo Kojima is trying to give us a Snake voice that he actually envisions, and people are shitting on him.

Oh, well. In that case, unless it’s one damned elaborate joke (Sons of Liberty, anyone?)… drop it, folks, the man has spoken.

This reminds me of the replacement of Chief’s and Cortana’s voice in Halo 4’s Japanese release. That was really an upset moment.

Currently I am playing MGS for 3 reason
1. Akio Otsuka’s voice as Snake
2. Hideo Kojima
3. The series itself
…in order.

If they replaced Hayter, there is a big chance they are going to replace Otsuka as well, and that’s definitely not a good new to many fans in Japan
Well, maybe for some reasons, that the Boss is not going to talk at all in the game, so they don’t need Hayter’s voice at all, though seems impossible.

I read that Kojima won’t be replacing Otsuka. Don’t have a source, so treat this as a rumor for now.

they replaced BBs voice in 4, same guy should voice him here too.

Let’s be honest here, David Hayter IS Snake’s voice. When you see someone like him (Snake), Hayter makes his voice match Snake as a grizzled soldier. It just fits.
